In the heart of the Devon countryside

Magnificent setting, great pitches and facilities.Dogs were just as well catered for as it had two walks and play areas which were enormous, this was essential considering how many come to the site.Alot of seasonal pitches but it didn't detract from a truly magical time spent....it was testament to the site and it's staff by how busy it was but how easy it was to enjoy it.Marvellous.

This was the first site we used when we took up caravaning and we judge all sites by this one you have everything you need all in one place.Peter and his staff go out of their way to make you welcome. We will be going again shortly and are really looking forward to it as for days out their are many places only an hour or wo Way.

Lovely Site

Ideally located for both Dartmoor and the Coast. Lots of attractions around for children but they can be expensive (but what isn't these days). Facilities are excellent and very clean. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good supermarkets at Newton Abbott and Totnes. Both dog walks were good and great to be able to let them off the lead in these areas. Pitches varied in size greatly, so if you are a big outfit make sure the owners are aware when booking.

Dornafield review 1st class but not quiet

Excellent site facilities 1st class, too large for our personal liking and some pitches need motorhome levellers; owners and staff very kind. Families note that local attractions are numerous but you need deep pockets as they are expensive. Would stay again but for perhaps 4 days rather than a week. Noisy due to constant grass cutting, nice it was presented well for incoming guests but could get on your nerves if you wanted a quiet morning by the van.

An exceptional caravan site

This site puts caravaning into a five star experience. We had a fully serviced pitch with chemical emptying, dustbin, along with the usual drinking water and drain facilities. The site is extremely well organised and maintained, with friendly helpful staff. The toilet block is a modern immaculate facility and the shop is well stocked. It was a pleasure to stay on this well manicured site with so many colourful floral displays.

what a find!!!!

Fantastic!!!! Such a fabulous find. We dont have anything negative to say about this site.  Dog walk ( there are 2 but we only used the one ) is lovely with plenty of rabbits to keep our 2 spaniels happy. The pub up the road is well worth a visit too. Everything about this site is 5stars. We are definitely returning for our main holiday next year. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Delightful Dornafield

This was our first visit to Dornafield and having read all the reviews our expectations were very high - and they were met in every way! The site is very well laid out with plenty of amenities and an exceptionally well stocked information room.  The toilet blocks were always immaculate and the grounds are very well maintained. The site is well placed for exploring the coast, moors and a number of interesting towns and villages. We would particularly recommend the Round Robin circuit which included a river cruise between Totnes and Dartmouth, ferry to Kingswear, steam train to Paignton and open top bus back to Totnes.  The NT property at Coleton Fishacre is an absolute must for a beautiful house and gardens.  Also Agatha Christie's holiday home at Greenacre. Totnes is an interesting town to explore and there is a great walk along the river bank to Dartington Hall with its beautiful grounds. We will certainly be returning as there is still so much to see and do here. Dorafield and its team are really the icing on the cake for us.  Thank you.

Grand kids go mad in Devon

Managed to stay a couple of nights over the bank holiday weekend with the grand kids, the view of the site on the approach was lovely and you knew a couple of great days lay ahead. All the facility's were very clean and having a fresh water and waste water point next to the caravan made life easy, the play area was just what the little ones needed to burn off the energy before bed time. We had a great trip to Torquay the wardens were very helpful, looking forward to returning.

TRANQUILITY throughout our. 'Stormy Period'

My husband & I have just spent 4 weeks at Dornafield, as a stop gap in 'moving house'. We left our home of 33 years in Torquay, which was both exhausting & traumatic. Dornafield was everything we could have hoped for & more. Facilities, cleanliness, welcome, scenery, pitches, environment, location & tranquility second to none. It was just what the doctor ordered. Thank you all at Dornafield??! Caroline & Frank Craig

Outstanding

My wife and I have just had our 2nd holiday at DORNAFIELD and as before it was all we wanted. We can find no faults apart from the fish and chip van we don't think it was fresh fish more like frozen same goes for the chips, and I would add a little over priced. But apart from that we could no faults on this site and we will be going back later this year. So a great big thank you to Peter and everyone at DORNAFIELD. John and Vanessa kennedy
