Fantastic site - lovely quirky pitches and immaculate facilities. Wonderful walks from the site with fabulous pubs in Coniston and Torver. Lovely peaceful quiet site at night - guaranteed a good night's sleep.

Peace and quiet even with 3 children
Lovely site close to Coniston lake, we took three children and still managed some peace and quiet due to the well thought out play area's, paddle boarding seems all the rage down at the short walk to the lake, facilities were clean and well kept, plenty of walks locally and a pub twenty minutes walk away, there are shops in Coniston providing most things you may need including a fish and chip shop, although this is available on site a couple of days a week, pizzas also on other days. Friendly and informative staff all made for a pleasant few days away.
Noise ruined an otherwise brilliant experience
Agree with all the positive reviews on here about site location, layout of site, cleanliness of blocks and the wonderful staff who work so hard. We liked the slightly random layout of pitches which was a welcome change from the uniform layout of some other sites. Location couldn’t be better, with easy walking access to Lake Coniston which for us made a perfect wild swimming location. Walks into Coniston and Torver (new pub there coming soon!) were lovely and more than doable with our 6 month old. What ruined the holiday for us was the noise. The adjacent campsite appears to get all the blame, where in fact kids running utterly feral around the swing park near the bottom of the site late into the evenings really ruined our experience. This wasn’t just kids having a great time. They were totally out of control and on a different level. The last evening was our worst, as our baby was woken by a screaming competition and bike/scooter races down the hill. The noise was relentless until around 10pm. We totally understand that kids will be kids, but the level of respect for other campers which we are so used to with CAMC absolutely didn’t exist here. Wonderful campsite ruined by a really different vibe. We left a day early, partly influenced by this experience.
Great little secluded forest site
Lovely site with groups of pitches located in little forest clearings. Wild kept and not immaculate like some sites but this totally adds to the charm. We had a very friendly little robin visit pitch 31 every day which was wonderful. Facilities very clean apart from being spoilt but the lazy few who cant even be bothered to throw their empty shampoo bottles away or clear their halr up from round the sinks. :(. Laziness got noticably worse come the bank holiday with people leaving massive wastemaster and aquaroll boxes and old bbq’s by the waste. I mean come on people… take it home. So i thank the wonderful staff who work tirelessly to keep this wonderful site wonderful. The pizza van was also pretty handy after a long day walking the fells!
Spoilt by other campsite
Stayed at Coniston Coppice site 3 times now just got back its Aug Bank Holiday weekend the site was very busy to be expected and as its scholl holidays kids were abundant which wasn't too bad however the Coniston hall site below the Coppice had Hundreds of campers and they were very noisy into the earlier hours of the morning the tents were five abreast some with camper vans must be illegal.. Needless to say couldn't get much sleep!!!
The area is absolutely amazing with lots of walking and cycling the Coppice site is well located for the area shame about the nieghbers best to come when the kids are back at school and not at Bank Holidays which is a real shame

Lovely place but strange set up
We have just visited the site for 5 days leaving today Fri 5th August.
On arrival I wasn't in love with the site. It seems a little strange. We drove around and found a pitch ( the site is a fairly big site) on reflection the pitch maybe was the issue... not level and far too much gravel.
There are lots of pitch areas and some singles at the side of the road - we chose a little group section. The areas around the pitches seem a little unkempt but I know this is for the wildlife - it just seems a little messy. There is however plenty of wildlife.
The site is close to Coniston water which is lovely. The walk to Coniston is easy and the walk along the shore the opposite way is lovely.
So after feeling I didn't like the site I ended up thinking it was ideal. Lovely area, nice staff and probably the best/cleanest toilet blocks I've visited.
Give it a go - let the area take you over and you'll love it too.
Peaceful site in woodland, a bit of a hilly walk to and from the lakeside
Coniston Park Coppice is a lovely site with good facilities. It is a great location for visiting southern lakes attractions, mountain biking, and lake activities. It is a bit of a distance from the lake for carrying paddleboards and kayaks or canoes, downhill to the lake and a long walk uphill back. It’s about a 30 minute walk in to Coniston village, but this is mainly on footpaths through farm land, where sheep and cattle roam freely. The site is on a slope, in woodland, the pitches are mainly gravel, and some are quite small. The staff are nice and welcoming, the facilities are lovely and clean. At the time we were there, the dog/bike wash hose was snapped so was not useable.
This was our third stay in a little over a year, and although the weather wasn’t the best, we enjoyed our stay

An excellent base to hike or bike
Stayed for the third time July 2022. It can be tricky to find a pitch and it will vary depending on the time you arrive. This site allows arrivals at 10am, most are 1pm. Quite a few leaving that day may not have gone at 10! The site is a bit of a warren of roads and pitches but that is it's charm. It rains, a lot, it's the Lake District so expect some! We moved to a more open pitch as the rain dropping off the trees can last quite a while. Had a lovely private corner with plenty of room, nearest unit was well away from us. The approach road in is narrow in places despite being an A road. Use caution, we came head to head with a 50 ton excavator being moved so full test of reversing skills! Careful leaving, the A 5084 is the way out passing the lake shore. It splits at Torver with the A593 to Millom which is best avoided as steep and narrow. The sign was covered in tree so care required here. The site by the lake was rammed with tents and does not gain the kindest reviews for reasons you may see. That said it's an easy 45 min amble along to the village with no hills to climb. We came to mountain bike and the route from Coniston village to Grizedale Forest is an uber steep rocky bridleway. It can be avoided by climbing the B5285 to Hawkshead instead and going into the forest via a small car park on the right. Very steep either way but easy on the way back! Or take the bikes to the visitor centre if you have a car. Previous visits have been to hike across Coniston Old Man to Torver and back via the lake shore. Location wise for outdoor pursuits this is fantastic.

Really lovely site close to lakes. A little far away from the village though.
Facilities were excellent.
Only annoying thing was finding a pitch. Had to drive round in heavy rain looking and was hard to spot. Allocated pitches would be much better.

It’s like marmite you either live it or hate it
We arrived at a very busy caravan site on a Saturday afternoon for a 4 night stay. Maybe this was our first mistake. After driving round the pitch areas it was obvious to us that we were not going to be happy here. It was difficult to see where the pitches were as we could only find tiny ‘lay-by’ areas which were difficult to get into and close to the neighbours. We expected the trees etc but not the small pitches. With a heavy heart we decided not to stay and went to see the wardens who were fantastic. They understood what we were saying and recognised that their site was unique and not for everyone. This is a popular site as it is on the lake but as the wardens said it’s a bit of a marmite site you either love it or hate it.
