My wife and I have just returned from spending 14 nights at this wonderful, peaceful sight.
Spacious yet cozy, set in tranquil surroundings.
First rate wardens who keep everything spotlessly clean.
The location is perfect for touring around from Barmouth to Anglsey and the Llyn Peninsula.
The Oakley Arms about 2 mls away on the Porthmadoch road serves excellent meals all day and a Sunday Carvery (booking advisable).
A great holiday
Just had 10 nights here Our first holiday in Wales since 1981 We came mainly for the "Great Little Trains", most are within reasonable reach of the site The site itself was well kept, neat & tidy and the facilities clean The only thing we could fault was the water pressure You have to practically lean on the back wall of the shower to get covered in water! If you visit here you must spend a day round the Lleyn Peninsula It is so beautiful, particularly Abersoch with it's lovely harbour
Lovely site ideal for Swondonia and more...
This a lovely site right on the doorstep to the national park. It is a credit to the wardens who keep this in immaculate condition. They are very knowledgeable and have details of local walks to loan out for a small donation to the local air ambulance service, a very worthy cause.
Our only gripe, as dog owners, is directed to those owners less responsible than us; there is a small but adequate dog walk and some owners still thought it acceptable to not clear up after their dogs on site, letting them off lead and not paying attention, prompting the wardens to have to put a sign up following grass cutting. Wardens have a tough enough job as it is without this.
Lovely quiet site in lovely Snowdonia National Park
We really enjoyed our week stay at this site. One of the quietest sites we have stayed on and we liked the way the site is laid out in small individual areas, making a real feel of your own community and engaging with your neighbours. Easy access to Snowdonia, beautiful and enjoyable. Spotlessly clean, well done and thank you Wardens!!
Exactly what you would expect
You can walk, cycle or drive from this site, and there are so many visitor attractions in the surrounding area that there is plenty to do whatever the day or weather. The site itself is exactly what you would expect from the Caravan Club and quiet in term time, but be prepared to travel if you need a shop, or even a paper and the local pub isn’t actually sure whether it is open or not. The information kiosk is well stocked, but it is worth researching the area and looking for, and printing, vouchers on-line before you go, including the club’s own great days out. Portmeirion is slightly cheaper if you book on line (you get a code, so don’t even need a printer). The best freebie is the Llanberis Slate Museum or the views from walks and cycle rides. If you are taking your cycles, take little notice of the club’s “Pitch Up saddle Up” lakeside cycle ride to Llyn Trawsfynydd because it is out of date and incorrect – the route uses part of the national cycle route 87 not 8, there is no signpost to Bryntirion (it is a house name) and you CAN cycle all the way around the lake (about 12 miles), but the newer Western part is steep in parts. If you have English Heritage membership, Cadw monuments like Criccieth and Harlech Castles are free. Wi-Fi is good all over the site as long as you can see a transmitter pole, but slow in the evenings, and TV is best on the higher part of the site. Mobile signals are weak. There is a good Tesco, with fuel, in Portmadoc, but much more spacious parking a short distance away at Aldi on the road towards Criccieth, together with useful Millets and Gelert camping superstores. Don’t assume that all A roads are suitable for large vehicles and be very wary of your sat-nav.

Hi just spent whitsun week on this fabulous site, well placed to visit snowdonia and all its attractions, if like us we decided not to cram everything into one week but we spaced our days out so we can visit this fantastic area again. As for the site it ticks all boxes excellent facilities and immaculately clean.local walks are well worth a look hope you enjoy this area we will be back, big thanks to all the staff on duty
Excellent little site
We've just returned from a week long stay here. The site is a typical CC site - facilities are faultless, ridiculously clean and the wardens couldn't do more for you.
There is so much to do locally - a set of wonderful walks, a great bicycle route nearby and plenty of days out around the Snowdonia National Park.
We will be returning to this site, the Children loved this site, and it was great to reconnect with nature.
Weather permitting
This is a fantastic site very well situated in the snowdonia national park we arrived as the rain came in for a 5 night stay,We only had one day of clear weather on which we enjoyed the trek to the waterfall through fields and forest from the site ,a trail detail sheet provided at reception .we wouldn't hesitate to come again but would check weather before booking
No wifi on pitch
Just had a nice break in Wales and enjoyed our stay at this site. The only thing that marred it was no wifi on the pitch we chose, unfortunately we couldn't move to another pitch as our 4 year old grandson particularly liked it, and no plugs in the washbasins in the men's toilets. We mentioned the wifi problem to the warden who said they'd have to get someone out. No one came. I know it's only a small thing but it is always annoying not to get what you have paid for.
