Peace and tranquilty

Just back from a 5 night stay at this site which we really enjoyed. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and as the site was fairly quiet we got our usual spot which we were really pleased about. Surrounded by nature, what more did we need. A day or so of rain did not deter us as we took full advantage of what Clumber Park has to offer. Having been here numerous times in the past we tend not to stay here on weekends, draw your own conclusions as to why not!!. We are looking forward to future stays as this lovely woodland site.

REPORT

Came here for seven nights. Site filled up at the weekend, plenty of children but not noisy. Boys used campsite roads as racetrack with their bikes. A quarter of the toilets/showers were closed off during the week which is not good enough. If the facilities are there they should all be available all the time. Apart from this, site is excellent.

Facilities need updating and cleaning more regular

The facilities at this site are very poor for the number of people using them, six ladies toilets per block for 178 pitches. They need checking more regularly for cleanliness and could do with cleaning more than once a day during busy periods like weekends!  These facilities are outdated and tired and could do with a revamp.  We pay members fees and a good going rate in site fees and deserve better!

You have the location and surroundIngs to be an outstanding site. Why spoil it .

Bank holiday break

We would recommend this site to anyone, in fact we already have . The wardens were helpful and friendly ,  the site and the facilities are well kept . If you like walking or cycling this site is perfect set in acres of park and woodland with dedicated routes to follow  or to wander just about where ever you want . You will not find a grander entrance to a site ( just make sure its the right one ) an arched stone gateway with a tree lined drive . We will definitely return soon.

Mid weeker

Came here for four nights Wednesday to Saturday. Lovely location with many miles of traffic clear cycle routes. Good idea with the cycle sheds for security, perhaps other caravan club sites could follow suit. Plenty of space until Friday night when the site filled with weekenders. Lots of children as others have said but not too raucous. Some tree swinging and scooters, bikes etc. However, there was one family's children exercising their dog with ball throws between vans (I thought they were supposed to be kept on a leash? The dog that is, not the children....mmm now there's an idea!) The toilet block we used was a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Shame the the wifi is not up to much.

All in all an enjoyable break.

Peace at last

Having battled down the A1 it was such a relief to drive through the archway welcoming you to Clumber Park.  The site is spacious set within the forest but not overly shaded. The facilities were up to the usual club standards and the motorhome service point convenient. Loads of cycle routes and footpaths throughout the forest and to the lake: such a restful spot. We were only there overnight but would certainly stay longer if we were in the area again: we didn't even have time to visit the National Trust attractions or Robin Hoods hidyhole!

Peace and quiet.

We were only 40 mins away from home, which felt an absolute world away. We were made very welcome by our wardens, and booked in easily.   This is a larger site which has two toilet/shower blocks which are clean and well kept. One side of the site has a children's playground, the other side was shadier and more quite, which was the side we chose.   From the site we walked and walked through the forest on various paths and tracks. This was so peaceful, we loved it. We will return soon.
