peace and quiet without phone

This site was so clean and tidy. It has been a while since i stepped into communal facilities. We have been using our own since covid. However i thought as i was paying for the service , why not! I was so surprised at the clean spacious free showers, private sinks and toilets. i took full advantage , having a shower every day, due to the hot weather. People were so friendly , not stuck with their noses in phones, that is all to common these days. I actually had conversations, relaxed and took in the beautiful scenery. #Great off site dog walk , that circles around the camp site, on site shop, which was very handy. People that like fast food , there are the usual chains a few miles away , plus visiting food vendors at the weekends. Clumber park , National Trust, is a few miles away . there are cycle routes, safe for children along the way. NT admission does apply, but you can benefit from the surrounding area, if you do not want to enter.

Great site shame about the Fish and Chips

Although thius site hasnt got Mobile signal and poor Wifi its workable. However what I find amazing is the have a Smiths fish and chip van every friday which to be fair are good, but when you go 40 mins before 7:30pm to be told they have no fish only sausage is laughable. Sometimes its not always doable to get on site before 5:30 when I guess they have fish but all I would say is be prepared and take enough food to cover Smiths Fish and chip vans poor planning.

Lovely site in brilliant location

This was our first visit to Clumber Park and we used it as an overnight stop on our way home. However our experience here was so good and the site in such a brilliant location with so much to do, that we will definitely return for several days. The layout allowed lots of space between pitches, the facilities were spotless and the general feel was very friendly. Thank you

Dogs

Beware! Clumber is an excellent site with great staff, but many dogs and their selfish owners mar it. Most appear not to see the issue with leaving their dog tied up outside and left to go crazy every time somebody walks past. If you don't mind being surrounded by barking dogs, you'll have no problem, but this site might not be for you if you prefer peace.

Just what we needed

We had a very pleasant stay at Clumber Park. Excellent dog walking facilities - many miles of walking throughout Clumber Park straight from the site. You could stay near the perimeter where it is quieter or you could head towards the lake and main section for a coffee and a bite to eat. There are a variety of cycle routes around the park. Not far away is Sherwood Forest with the Major Oak, if you are a cyclist there are some fun routes at Sherwood Pines. The staff were very approachable and informative. The facilities were excellent. There is no mobile signal but there is free WiFi.

Nice site

First time at Clumber park caravan site and won't be out last, the team were polite and friendly from the off the site was well kept.with large well spaced out pitches so you didn't feel like you were on top of each other, the facilities were clean and to a good standard, We were aware there was no phone or WiFi signal so this didn't bother us, and the clubs free WiFi was all we needed just to read a few emails.

Site Facilities

Just back from site visit. Found staff very helpfull and witnissed a staff member helping a caravan newbie to get their water pump working. Most site staff especially national trust camping site staff would not have bothered. Dont understand comment about no site wifi I connected to site system both free and premium found both adequate. Yes no cellphone signals but thats made clear on website but thats because National Trust who control the area wont allow a phone mast because of outdated planning ideas. No TV signal maybe but all electric hookup bollards have tv plug in points to site system so found adequate. WCs etc good standard and clean so no complaints. Fees could be lower but all sites are now more expensive so this site is average cost compaired to both similar club and private sites.

Extremely unfriendly staff

First things first - it's a big site with playground, multiple facilities, and loads of pitches. It's well kept, clean, and everything you'd expect of a C&MH club site. No signal as many others have pointed out. However, the front desk staff need to learn some customer service skills - make no mistake, your arrival is an inconvenience to them. The first sign of this (quite literally) are the dozens of no parking and 'go away if you've dared to arrive early' signs on the road in. Due to a family emergency, one of our party couldn't make it that evening. We asked, I'm my opinion perfectly reasonably, if she could be check in the next morning, but there was NO CHANCE of this. The rules say they don't accept check ins before 1pm, and they'll be damned if they'll let you do otherwise whether you've paid for the previous night or not. The rules say what they say (and there are plenty of them!), and they're going to unapologetically stick to them regardless of your situation. I've never experienced such inflexible staff at a campsite. Suffice to say we won't be back.

Excellent Staff and Facilities BUT NO phone or WiFi

We recently stayed on this site for 3 nights. The Site is beautiful and immaculately maintained. Upon arrival we had trouble with our electrics and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they soon got to the heart of the issue. For some reason our hook up lead was faulty. No problem as a quick visit to the site shop and a new lead solved the problem. The staff came back a few times to check that we were ok and enjoying our stay :) The only negative, is that there is absolutely Zero phone signal on any network and also no internet! Seems bizarre in this day and age, when getting clear images sent back from Mars, that for some reason Clumber Park is entirely isolated! Sadly, despite the great staff and facilities, I will not return until this is sorted.
