This is a lovely site situated in the heart of Clumber park, great cycle and walking routes from the site. The first thing were were told to do was lock our bikes in a secure shed despite them being locked to our Motorhome due to frequent thefts. This was great but a little disconcerting as one wonders what other thefts occur. The staff however were very friendly and helpful, always patrolling to make sure everything was ok. The fish and chip van seemed very popular on Friday night. The site was very busy and it is a big busy site, very noisy as there is a large play area, great for kids but as a couple we would value an adult only area. The people around us were noisy until gone 11pm which as annoying and thankfully we only stayed one night. I enjoyed the area but won’t visit again, too big and busy for us.
Needs adult only area
Love visiting this site for the walks and cycling. Staff really helpful and friendly. As a number of people have commented it can be busy with families and l would certainly avoid being near the play area. Ideally an adult only area would be an advantage
No phone signal is not usually an issue as you can use the WiFi , unless you need a constant signal as you have to log in every hour.
TV signal is good you may require a long cable
Child friendly site
Fantastic site if you have children. Large modern play area and all weather football pitch but probably not great for couples. Wardens very helpful and laid back - it's the children's holiday as well was their response. Children were out from 9am till 10pm as the weather was so good and made lots of friends. If you are a couple stay weekdays out of holiday time. Lovely site with lots of shady grass areas. We will be back, with our grandchildren again
Highs bad lies
Great location and direct access to park is fantastic, and facilities were fabulous.
Disappointment for us was how noisy the site was- site was already full but our neighbours both had guests for most of the time who were noisy, kids shouting in the showers and riding bikes across pitches and the metal fences on the footy pitch were constantly clanging when in use. Understand it’s holidays and expect a level of noise/activity but it really was a bit much and not the relaxed weekend we envisaged.
Free Wi-Fi incredibly slow and you have to re login every hour (we’re not glued to our phones but do tend to use them to plan walks etc)
If we go back (location was great!) we would try and avoid the playground and maybe try a premium pitch- although they are on the expensive side it did seem like a quieter area.

Like a kids Play Area
Although this site is in a great location and it has a great team of wardens, the amount of children present was unacceptable. From first thing in the morning to last thing at night (after 10pm) , they were screaming all day long at the tops of their voices.
I know it is school holiday time but there are other people on the site who might like a bit of piece and quiet. They all race around in packs, on their bikes and scream constantly.
Much as I like this site, I will not be back, which for me is a shame.
Well done to the Wardens though, great guys.
Well kept site, excellent bike storage.
Site is really well kept, friendly staff, excellent bike storage. My son (5 yrs) loved cycling around Clumber Park.
A mixed experience
The site is great, in a good location and with plenty of walks in Clumber Park. The walled gardens, maintained by the National Trust are looking fabulous at the moment and the cafè, shop and bookstore in the park (around a 30 minute walk) are great for a browse and a cuppa. The site itself is large with level pitches and fantastic and clean facilities. As reported by previous members the check in is a little officious and I too struggle to understand why we have to show a membership card when we have booked via a personal login to the club website and where my outfit registration number and description is retained. There is no phone reception here which means that the WiFi should be excellent and it is not. There was a poster that advertised the wardens help in getting onto the WiFi as the site was experiencing problems. I asked for that help which did not result in my getting onto the WiFi. I wandered around Clumber Park and found spots of decent 4G but this is hit and miss. I needed to be in some contact with family so this was a worrisome one night stay that could have been alleviated by access to WiFi. It needs to be sorted out.
A very large site
It’s many years since I stayed here in a caravan and the site has had recent upgrading.
I particularly liked the keypad gate entry from the site into the park.
This is not a site for peace and quiet; or not while I was there and you do need to have your wits about you to avoid children who are speeding around on their bikes. It was a convenient stop over for me en route from North Wales to Essex but I’m not sure that I would stay for an extended time.
I do wish the Club would sort out its Wi Fi. I had come from a site in North Wales which had really easily accessible Wi Fi which allowed for multiple devices and was free (cost may have been part of entry fee) so no faffing to get on line.
Sort out the WiFi !!
Great site - we have visited a number of times through the years and the upgraded facilities are really good, especially the toilet blocks which can now be cleaned without closing them. Brilliant play park with good quality equipment and a separate enclosed footy pitch. Excellent dog walk.
I would echo the comments of other members re the WiFi - we stay on CLs and small commercial sites where WiFi is free and at a standard which allows streaming without constantly dropping out. The CAMC charges top dollar for pitches but the WiFi service across the Club network does not reflect these charges when compared to what is on offer elsewhere.
This is less of an issue where there is good phone coverage but at Clumber it is a real issue. A free log in for 2 devices linked to a broadcast system that is fit for purpose would be a start!
We managed with the free WiFi because we were opposite one of the masts, but we had issues at Trewethit Farm site in Cornwall where we not so close to a mast and phone coverage was poor.
The washing machines were out of action and we needed them - instead we went to Rick's Launderette in Retford. He does the wash and you get back a bag of clean and folded laundry the same day. He also does duvets! Recommended!

Great Location but hard to 'check in'
The bottom line is that it is in a great area particulary for walking, but it seemed easier to get into France and then the UK as it was to check in here.
You need to show your membership card (that are not supplied anymore) so you need to show it on the app (but I don't use the app) My partner has the app (but there is no phone signal) but apparantly you need to take a screenshot of your membership card before you arrive. No, I'm not joking!! I've booked it through my account, its all paid for, they know my car registration but non of this is enough.
Some staff are friendly and some not so much. The anwser to the terrible wifi is to charge you for premium wifi, come on guys if there is no phone signal, limited tv signal, terrible standard wifi then stop profiteering from members and make the premium wifi free.
