Good for families

Good site but grounds needs attention.

This is our third visit to Cirencester site ,the entrance road is fine as long as those already on site remember that they too had to arrive at 1.00pm- so why decide to go out in their vehicles just when caravans are trying to get in ?? The site is large, with two clean well maintained facilities blocks and several service points around the site. Excellent walking throughout the Bathurst Estate next door and walks in and around Cirencester (found the open air swimming pool on Riverside walk and lovely grassed areas behind the Abbey.) Good variety of small shops & markets on different days, indoor markets held in Cornhall - lovely cafe inside & dogs allowed . No big stores in town - M&S & Morrisons are food only but that's no problem. Foodie vans on site on different nights but cannot comment as did not try. Biggest disappointment is with the site itself - the hard standing pitches are not good quality for the price. The surfaces on a lot are mossy/weeds, with awful stones & very difficult to hammer steel pegs in for awning- bent pegs ! Also groundwork on site is not up to usual standards - grass was left uncut between grass pitches ,nettles and brambles growing rampant around back of pitches and on dog field, some trees have got far too big for site - I'm all for nature & wildlife but in parts it looked very unkempt - the site is next to a massive estate park- plenty for bees & birds. Come on CAMC - We pay a lot of hard earned money for our way of holiday leisure, don't let your standards drop. This is a lovely site with a lot to offer - get an outside ground force team in to tackle the issues needed so site wardens can continue their excellent customer service- if commercial sites can maintain standards & offer value for money so can you..
