Good for families

Not as expected

We booked 10 nights here but left after 6. If my husband had had his way we would have left after 1 night. The site was poorly maintained with white peg pitches covered in leaves and weeds although the serviced pitch were well maintained. From the back of the toilet block there aren't any paths and my husband stepped in dog mess left by a negligent dog owner. The bin in the men's toilet was full and never emptied while we were there. The rubbish bins were overflowing by the afternoon but not emptied until the next morning. I only saw one warden walking round the site once but when visiting the office there were 3 or 4 on duty. The worst site I have ever visited.

Have you read other people's reviews?as unless it has changed drastically just for your visit ,it has not been like it in the times when we have visited , and as for leaves as it is Autumn it is what you tend to get ,and the the serviced pitches are more open so would not get covered as much and they are also new so would look less usedsurprised

Ps how did you like the area?undecided

Quite right leaves are to be expected in Autumn but you don’t expect them to be left blocking the waste points for a whole week Cirencester is the only club site we have visited where the grass was only cut around the service pitches. After leaving Cirencester we visited another club site with equally as many tress and the wardens cleared the service points every day and spent time every day clearing leaves from the pitches.

What did the two of you who found the site unsatisfactory do about it? Did you discuss the issues with the wardens or take it up with the sites dept at the club? Certainly, if things were that bad, you needed to do that.

From what we heard from staff on a different site that Cirencester will have new staff next year perhaps that will  bring the site up to standard but we have visited in the past and no problems. Agree there is a lot of trees on site and as said it is Autumn.

I visit this site every year, sometimes twice  and I'm really hoping that this is a one off as it is not something that I have ever witnessed in all the years that I have been with the caravan club.

There is not path behind toilet block....yes because yr not supposed to walk that way, keep to the paths.    We have used this site for about 10 years and always immaculate.as for the leaves, there are a lot of trees so there will be leaves.  You didn’t mention the rabbits running around did you miss yr moan for that
