How can they charge you for barrier hitting yr van.....one they should have been watching the screen, and 2 it should have a safety cut off surely.   I would fight the bill

I assume that you were not tailgating and, if so, I would not get annoyed as I would not be paying.

I know this site well and I don't understand why you had to stop within range of the barrier - the first turnings are well past it.

Having said that, I would also be pretty annoyed at receiving this bill - if the warden said there was no damage at the time it is entirely unjustified. Was there any damage to your van? If so it might be worth pursuing damages through your insurance company.

To my mind if the barrier came down while a vehicle was still under it, the barrier is either faulty or was installed incorrectly. There should be a sensor to detect if a vehicle is still there.

I certainly would not be paying anything for barrier repairs and would be claiming from the club for any damage to my vehicle or caravan.

I do not understand why you had to stop when not clear of the entrance barrier? but i agree with others  do not get stressed just do not pay as there should be a "fail safe"  on the barrier but then we do not the whole scenariosurprised
