Happy Return
The second time we stayed at Cirencester, it didn't fail to please during our one-week stay. Although there are 211 pitches, you'd never know it whilst standing in one place. It's spacious and well maintained with generous gaps between pitches, friendly wardens and the toilet block (only the one on this occasion due to time of year etc.) was well maintained and of good standard. The town is walking distance with a delightful option past trees, fields and a park by way of hard or sealed pathways. Cirencester is itself a well-heeled and delightful town with a good range of stores and eating places. If you are into that sort of thing, the church in the centre is worth a visit. We popped in to The Kings Head for a coffee but stayed for Sunday lunch. Not cheap but amazingly high quality cuisine and certainly worth a visit. (Dogs allowed in the spacious bar area.) Back to the site, location-wise, it’s excellent and in easy driving distance from a number of other places of possible interest including Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Swindon, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Bath, Bristol and not least, Oxford. It really is in the centre of all these and on our last visit, we twice visited Bath Christmas market. We couldn’t give five stars for “suitable for families” as there are sites that offer more for kids’ activities. Worth mentioning for the benefit of some, mobile telephone reception was excellent. Additionally, although there is of course Caravan Club wifi, our O2 phones received 4G Internet. (I can't speak for other mobile service providers). We are definitely going to return; in fact we have two bookings for 2016 already in place.
