Good for families

Great site, shame about the access road.

Our second visit to this excellent large site, the first being this time last year. First the bad news: Last year the tortuous access road had been remodelled, so I can only imagine what it was like before that! It was still hard to get up if meeting oncoming traffic (the lane services other places as well as the CAMC) but the boulders were very obvious. This year, because foliage and weeds have returned to the previous bare soil, the boulders are largely hidden, so beware. Might I suggest an answer? Another, non-Club, site I visit, has a similarly narrow and long access road. The owner has put a very directly-worded, very obvious sign at the start of the lane, saying new arrivals MUST not go any further until 13.30, while leavers must go before noon. In this way, a caravan only risks meeting a car, not an outfit. With that out of the way, the site is lovely. It's on the outskirts of a very large park with easy pedestrian access to the town and is very quiet at night. Dogs have a great field to romp about in off-lead, as do children (also off-lead). Facilities are what we expect and appreciate, and grass pitches in particular are very spacious (though in great demand so early birds tend to get these worms). Some pitches though are shadier than we would want, so take care. For walkers, Cirencester Park has many miles of great wooded paths, and excellent footpaths begin close to the entrance. We were there for five nights and didn't need to move the car once. Yes, access is irking. But it wouldn't put me off returning.

Before the 'remodel' it was fine. I shall not visit now
