Good location but site needs improvement

Firstly, the wardens were not the most welcoming. The one-way system is very confusing and we saw a number of people trying to locate a pitch driving off site and having to re-enter because of it. When it was suggested to the warden that changing one arrow would help, the reply was "It's been like that for a long time"! The Motorhome Service Point can't be accessed, once you are on site. The pressure in the toilets is inadequate, leading to repeated flushing, which wastes water. There are not enough water points for such a large site - 6 to 8 more are needed. It would be better to provide a map of the walk into town through the Park, rather than written instructions .Worst of all, there were lots of children on bikes, unsupervised and not obeying the one-way system, which was both annoying and dangerous, with so many large vehicles on the move. The wardens did not bother to take any action. The pluses: lovely trees and handy location. Not sure I would stay here again!

I wouldn't return if I had so many problems with the site. Personally I have no problems using the site

I'm rather surprised at some of the comments in your review. This is one of our favourite sites and one I frequently visit solo for a short break.

To address your specific points - I've always been made most welcome by the wardens, including the time I was running early, parked up in Kemble, rang the site and was told to come on anyway (it was low season!), the one way system is well signposted and you may have seen folk driving off site and back on to get to a particular pitch which they couldn't access without doing so, not surprising on a site of this size. I can't comment on the accessibility of the MHSP - I'm guessing you mean the one by the lower toilet block - but most MHers seem to use it without difficulty. I've never had a problem using the showers although you're right that the toilet bowl do sometimes need repeated flushing. I've never had to walk far to get to a water point, certainly no further than most other club sites. What sort of map do you need to reach town? Turn left out of the site and right when you get to the main drive in the park! Obviously I can't comment on children cycling etc as I don't visit at peak times.

The one continued downer is the access road but I believe the club have little control over that.

So although you may not have had the best of times there, I suggest you give it another go at a quieter time of year.
