First time alone

I have just spent 5 nights on this park. i was nervous as this was my first time away in my new van alone. I must say that the wardens were extremely helpful, and pleasant! On arrival a warden helped me hitch up, and another warden sorted the Arial cable, and tuned my tv in for me! My to dogs loved the doggie field. In all it was a great experience.

Lovely site

We had a lovely stay here first week in August, only 1 problem the Tv's signal is awful so we switched to the site aerial sockets but they were broken, we were offered a move by the helpful wardens, was lovely to see the children playing my seven year old left after breakfast and came back at the end of the day just popping back during the day for drinks and food , loved the radio in the shower blocks too

Free Concert!!!

Stayed here for a week beginning 29 July. We found the concert next door to be entertaining because the music was our taste. After speaking to the Wardens they were completely unaware of the concert and should not be blamed in my opinion. The site and facilities were fantastic and the location beautiful and close to town. On departure we developed a problem with our hitch which meant we could not tow the van home. The wardens let us leave our van, safely, in the late arrivals bay for the AA to pick up. This meant we didnt have to wait 5-6 hours with the van. For that we were extremely grateful. Many Thanks for a cracking stay and for your understanding and cooperation

Sound of the Summer

What a glorious site Cirencester is for all the usual reasons ie cleanliness, friendliness and facilities together with it's location so close to the town. This is just our second visit and we too did not know about the adjacent festival but we found it quite enjoyable albeit the music was in our era. Swearing is unacceptable but we did not hear any of it and the music quality was reasonable. I wonder if they could get Pink Floyd for next year, because we shall re visit for sure.

Break with Grandchildren

We had a few days away with the grandchildren, it was the first time they had been camping. All the usual comments about CC sites apply ie lovely site, clean facilities, friendly wardens. There was a music festival on the nearby Bathurst Estate which the wardens weren't aware of until the music started! Fortunately although the music was loud it was our type of music and it stopped 10/10:30 each evening. Not a weekend for a peaceful time but added to it for us.

"Sounds of the Cotswolds"

We were also on site for the weekend of free entertainment that was delivered to us courtesy of the "Sounds of the Cotswolds." Yes it was loud; yes it was disruptive; and yes the week-end experience would have been enhanced if it had not taken place. However I feel it unfair to blame the wardens for something that was clearly outside of their control. An earlier correspondent has said that the Caravan Club had advanced notice. It would be helpful to see that evidence. As far as my research went I found it very difficult to discover any mention of the concert on the web until I got hold of the Sounds of the Cotswolds title. Then I was able to discover that they had indeed run the event last year ... in a pub nearby. So the lesson to be learned for us all I would suggest is that if we are contemplating Cirencester in late July 2017 we first check whether and where the Sounds of the Cotswolds is going to take place, and avoid the Cirencester site if things remain unchanged. Alternatively the Caravan Club might make representations to those responsible for providing permission for the event to take place and request that it be held much further into the park. Bathurst covers a massive acreage and I am sure an alternative location far away from the Club site could be found. I hope that helps.

Dissappointing Stay

My wife and I recently booked to stay for 3 nights at this site, from Fri 30 Jul to 1st Aug. This site is among our favourites and we have always been utterly impressed with the attitude of the wardens, the cleanliness of the site, the proximity to the wonderful town of Cirencester and the stunning surrounding beauty of the Cotswolds countryside. We were both looking forward to relaxing for a few days on what has always been a peaceful and stunning site. And we thank the Wardens for keeping this site so well. Alas, the prospect of our peaceful weekend was completely wrecked by the Rock Concert that was to take place for the 3 nights of our stayover. We were informed of this impending "ear pollution" by one of the wardens who stated that the staff had no idea the concert was going to take place. This we find utterly unbelievable, given the proximity of the campsite next to the site and the setting up that would have occurred right past the noses of the staff at the site; there must have been in excess of 100 tents in the concert field. We are particularly annoyed at the lack of foresight by Caravan Club booking staff for not informing members that this concert was taking place, either by word of mouth or on line. We booked online and saw no warning of the concert at all, but more incredibly, the lack of awareness by the site staff. As we pitched our caravan, we were told by a warden about the concert, who also told us that they had no idea that the concert was going to take place! Thinking that the music might abate by 10.00pm, we were prepared to put up with the music (if you can call it that), but it was still blaring out from 6.00pm until 11.10pm on Friday and Saturday, 29th & 30th July and all afternoon and evening on Sunday 31st July. The language used by band members was appalling, especially as there were plenty of young children on the site. We cannot believe that the CC did not know about this concert, especially as band members kept referring to their presence at the concert last year. Whilst we are not generally given to complaining and consider that we have a fairly high tolerance threshold, in this instance we feel we need to complain in the strongest of possible terms. Having spoken to many fellow CC members who were equally as disgruntled as we were and who were staying on the site at the same time as us, we consider we are among the majority who considered that the lack of warning about the concert was somewhat shortsighted on the part of the Caravan Club. Therefore, we do not consider it unreasonable to request some form of compensation from the Caravan Club for what was ostensibly a very unpeaceful and ruined weekend. We returned home feeling very frustrated, unrelaxed and cheated out of the rest for a few days that we were so looking forward to. May we add that this is the first time we have raised a complaint about a stay on a CC site and whilst this situation was n

great location

Great location. Shame about the older facility's. They looked tired and dirty. Also you need to watch out for dog poo as we found quite a bit. As a dog owner I would pick up when my dogs do it any where. The festival music was great and did not bother us. Staff some where very friendly but others where quite rude. The location is amazing next to the park. Great walks

Another great stay

We were also on this site during the rock concert and yes it was loud at times and the music not always to our taste but overall it did not affect our stay. Thank you to the wardens for allowing us to stay a bit longer on our departure day. This site is in a fantastic location especially walking through the Bathurst estate into Cirencester town centre which has some very nice shops, cafes and pubs. We have stayed here many times and hope to return again soon.

Loud!

We booked an overnight stop off on our way back from a holiday in Cornwall. We arrived at 4.30pm and we're shown which pitches were grass and which hard standing plus where yhe playarea was. Having decided on a grass pitch we drove around to pick where and there was only one pitch available - it would have been helpful to have known there was only 1 as wax the practice at a previous club site. We set up and at 5pm sound testing started! It was loud and awful! The irony was that we had not booked a cl site because we had been advised of a music festival a couple of fields away! We decided to carry on home and asked for a refund which was given, however I was quite annoyed that the warden had the nerve to say it was only being given because of the circumstances! To which I replied if it wasn't for the circumstances I wouldn't be driving another 3 hours home! The site did look very nice and we did enjoy fish and chips from the van on site before we left! We were not advised of the loud music when we arrived at reception and I feel the excuse that they didn't know about it is feeble -they should make it thwork job to find out and advise customers like the cl site did. We were looking for a quiet evening to break up the journey home and relax very disappointing we didn't get this.

My ratings are all affected by the racket  we were subjected to!
