Great site - great location

We really enjoyed both the quality of the site and facilities, as well as its location so close to Cirencester Park and the town. We will definitely come back.

Great last minute booking

For various reasons we were booking very late for the Bank Holiday this year so were pleased to squeeze into Cirencester by the skin of our teeth a few days ago. Never mind, we thought, at least we have somewhere to go. What an inspired last minute booking it turned out to be though. The site is everything you come to expect from a CAMC site and you really can't fault it. We were knocked out by the walk into Cirencester ('The Pretty Route') and very impressed with what Cirencester has to offer when we got there. It feels like we only scratched the surface and must return soon. With the glorious weather and the bonus of the totally free Phoenix Music Festival we really felt like we had struck lucky. The only small gripe we had was a number of people not grasping the unwritten etiquette about walking across other peoples pitches. As lifelong campers with roots in Scouting it's embedded in our psyche not to do this so it rankles when other people do it. Finally, please don't be put off by the comments about the access road - it really is not an issue. All in all a great weekend. We will be back.

Another great visit

This was our 2nd visit to Cirencester. This time we had a serviced pitch which was a treat. As usual the wardens were lovely and friendly and helpful. I do like the fact that they clean the facilities in the afternoon so much more convenient. They have to have one of the best dog fields in the network although bit disappointed that they had fenced off the wooded area as my dogs prefer to sniff and investigate rather than chase a ball which they find pointless. The addition of a bench was an added benefit. My only reason for not giving 5* overall rating is the approach road is getting even worse, its a long single track road full of potholes and with very little opportunity to pass anything coming the other way. We arrived at 12.15 and people were still leaving so caused chaos. I know other people use this access but surely with some co-operation something could be done to improve this. Also when walking round the site we noticed that there were a lot of hardstanding pitches that looked very worn out. This is not a cheap site at over £30 a night for a serviced pitch so come on spend some money on it. Its a lovely site and its starting to look a bit tatty round the edges. We will be back..............

The best town site in the UK

We've visited several times and this is the best 'town' site we know (by town site I mean that it's within walking distance of the town centre - there may be better sites if you want peace and tranquility in the middle of nowhere). Facilities are great, staff are friendly, the delightful town of Cirencester is just a walk away and there's plenty of choice of pitch type. On balance I prefer the grass pitches, but the serviced pitches are great too. They've listened to our comments on shower cleaning times and these are now staggered - brilliant! One more request - how about grass serviced pitches? The current serviced pitches are a little bit 'car park like' relative to the lovely, spacious grass pitches. Just a thought.

Wow!

What a find... excellent location with beautiful park walks right from the site. 20 min flat walk into one of the most beautiful towns we have ever visited. Lots of places to eat and drink and shops In town. A couple of chains but mostly one off shops. The site wardens are very welcoming and have great knowledge of the local area. The site is large but doesn’t feel it with well spaced pitches and two very good clean shower/toilet blocks. Large laundry area Great dog walking field on site although with the park only a few steps away there was plenty of freedom for the dogs. Would definitely recommend this site

Great Site!

This is the third visit this year. This is a great site with very helpful wardens. The facilities are always clean and the site well maintained. ( it covers many acres.) The flowers are beautiful as you enter the site. There are lots of places to visit in the Cotswold villages. We visited quite a few NT sites which are numerous in the Cotswolds. An easy walk into Cirencester through the park. Tesco and Waitrose are nearby. Tesco car park is big enough for large Motorhomes. Waitrose is about 10 - 15 minutes walk and accessible by bike. The site has a large grass play area and dog exercise area. The site is probably more suited to school age children. The site has pizza and fish and chips on site twice a week.

Wonderful site & wardens

Nothing too much trouble for the wardens who work hard to maintain an impeccably clean site and always have a cheery comment and smile - thank you! Amenity blocks spotless and as ever its wonderful not to have push-button/timer operated showers! Mobile oven-fired pizza catering on Thursday was very yummy and definitely worth a try, plus exceedingly good value. Cirencester itself is beautiful and this site gives very easy access to the Cotswolds in general plus days out to Oxford, Bath, Bristol etc. Only x2 slight gripes: one or two car drivers must have thought they were at Brands Hatch but of course that is an individual responsibility, not much the wardens can do about that especially as a reminder is given about vehicle speed upon checking in; some of the hardstandings do have a definite slope to them now (?given amount of use/compaction of the gravel) and I will need to bring my levelling blocks next time I come here - I haven't needed to carry the blocks with me since changing from a coachbuilt mortohome to a van conversion.

Lovely friendly site staff

We were accommodated on this site for 4 nights with half an hours notice after our tow car broke down on our way to Cornwall. Staff are very friendly, site is very well maintained with a lovely field for dogs and ample play areas for children. We had some lovely walks into Cirencester through Bathurst estate.
