We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June and found it to be a lovely spacious site with a particularly good shower block. The wardens were friendly and helpful; the site was beautifully kept. It is however, quite close to the A5117 and the motorway. We were aware of a constant hum of road noise and at times felt hemmed in by traffic. A 5 minute walk along a fairly busy road, without a footpath, took us to The Rake which is a good family friendly pub with a large garden. The bus into Chester, also stopping at the zoo, was a 10 to 15 minute walk away. There is a very nice walk into Chester along the towpath - about 7 miles.
