Visit spoilt by change in club rules

This was our first visit Chester. The site is in a great location close to a retail outlet and some dog friendly pubs.

One of the main reasons for us joining the club was its no nonsense approach to its rules. Having enjoyed the first part of our visit, we were surprised to see an English van like ourselves arrive and pitch the wrong way round, resulting in our awnings almost touching and the total loss of our privacy when sitting outside. I have no problem with foreign vans parking the wrong way which means of course the doors face the same direction as ours. I raised the issue with a warden and was told that due to requests from other members, as long as you park in the confines of your pitch it doesn't matter which way around you park. This then made a complete mockery of my booking in procedure when I was shown how to park as per the diagram on the office desk with the rear offside corner of my van next to the white pitch marker.

Sorry but I think the club is slowly going downhill.

Not a change in the rules at all

Bensam, you can pitch with either the rear offside corner to the peg or the front nearside corner. It’s been that way for years and there is an alternative diagram which most wardens fail to display.

As our lounge area is at the rear, we frequently pitch nose in.
