Great location

Stayed here for a few days at the tail end of the Covid restrictions. The site is in a great location, with some fantastic views of the Racecourse and hills. Easy access to the town, with plenty of places to visit. A choice of pubs to visit within walking distance and can highly recommend the Kings Arms, dog friendly too! I can understand the comments regarding a car park feel, but we chose a grass pitch so didn't have that feeling! Decent facilities, bit dated, but usual high level of cleanliness. The walk down to the village is a decent walk for the dogs, but no direct access from the site (eg a separate gate)., but no big issue really.

Great site, lovely town

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, fantastic wardens (Peter and jenny when I stayed), very helpful. Disabled facilities were the best of any site I have stayed on, spotless, and well thought out, well done caravan Club, see, you can do it.... Only negative, a lot of sloping pitches, so be prepared to use levelling blocks. Will definitely be back

Not a Car Park

On booking, our initial concern was that it would be like staying at a 'car park', but rest assured this is far from the reality. The facilities are great, the hard standing useful in the typically inclement weather, but the views and aspect are amazing! Most pitches look out over the racecourse and all benefit from the backdrop of the local countryside and hillside - outstanding. The team on site couldn't have been more welcoming or nicer, it must be the best welcome and experience we've had to date - a real credit to the club! Cheltenham is about a 40 minute walk to the centre, and there are many and plentiful walks for all tastes and abilities on the doorstep. We would definitely recommend this site to all.

Very helpful

We have stayed here before but on this occasion we were only staying one night on our way back from Devon . On the way there for some inexplicable reason the door lock on our caravan dropped out and we lost it . We also had a problem with our electric hook up which needed an engineer . Andrew and Julie the wardens could not have been more helpful and helped us get the problems resolved . This site is in a fantastic position and is just short walk into the centre of Cheltenham .

Superb

Great location, short walk into one of my favourite towns, stunning views of the hills from most pitches. Site was spotless, excellent facilities, great wardens (Peter and jenny when I was there) sense of humour right up my street. Only negative, make sure you have levelling blocks, a lot of the pitches slope. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay

Ideal motor home stay

The location is perfect for walking into Cheltenham via Pittsville Park and pump room, after spending a while in Cheltenham you can catch bus D which will bring you back to the park and ride next to the racecourse, there’s a nice walk around the outside of the course and if you do it anti clockwise it will take you the long way to the steam preservation GWR railway which will take you to Broadway. There is a pub called the Royal Oak approx 1 mile away in the next village and after your visit you can cut through the village and get onto path by the side of the racecourse and have pleasant walk back to site, this is our 2nd visit and would highly recommend.

Great for short stay

We stayed two nights after having another previously booked site cancelled by the wardens at the last minute. It was a good alternative for us. The site is easy to access, and is kept very clean. Everyone was most welcoming. Our pitch had a lovely view but was sloping. It is possible to walk around the outside of the whole course, which our dog really enjoyed, although some parts of the path are really wet and muddy. We pre-booked lunch at a restaurant in town and spent a whole day doing the town trail that we found online. The wet weather did not spoil our enjoyment. The site does get a little road noise but it wasn't a problem for us. We would definitely use it again and perhaps stay longer to explore further by bus and bike.

The views across the racecourse are stunning

Access to the site is straight off a main road roundabout which makes life easier than some. It is mainly hard standings and sloping, making blocks essential. I had a non EHU pitch and depending on how you park there are amazing views of the racecourse and beyond. Waste and water points are central but the chemical waste is near reception. The showers are ok, hot and wet but not much power. Toilets and wash areas kept clean and tidy. I found the wardens pleasant enough. Walking into town is a pleasure with parks that almost stretch into the centre or you can use a bus service which seems quite frequent. I personally found the town to be a jumble of shops without any uniformity and difficult to navigate by camper. I would happily stay here again and this was my second visit.

Typical Racecourse site

Using the satnav coming down the M5, the site was easy to find. It felt a bit strange being asked to walk the site to find a pitch rather than drive - good idea though given the site layout. The wardens hide some of the pitch numbers under traffic cones! We thought the wardens were disinterested. Apart from a few grass pitches, this site is unrelenting grey, slightly sloping tarmac. EHU points can be some way away so ensure you have a 25m cable. Good views of the course and hills beyond. Loved the Motorhome Service Point. The heavy lid on the motorhome waste point has been replaced with a small grid; so simple - why didn't the CMC do this to other sites instead of putting in the troughs. Shower cubicles are excellent like mini wetrooms and they drain quickly. The shower takes some getting used to - in four days I never managed to get a consistent flow of hot water. There were queues for the ladies showers according to my wife. The gents block stunk of urine most of the day from the impressively long urine trough. The walk through Pittville to Cheltenham town centre is enjoyable. The GWR preserved railway station is close by.

RV Toilet Waste

Excellent location and stunning views, very friendly staff, only downside for us was no dedicated dump station for toilet waste on our RV, not a problem if you do not mind carrying your waste in a bucket to the only cassette disposal 15 mtrs away, not a problem for me but worth considering.
