Good for families

Spoiled by dogs and loud voices

Beautiful site and location. Wonderful weather. Helpful, cheerful, wardens. Pity about the huge number of yappy dogs seemingly out of the control of their owners. There were also noisy radios such, that taken together with the yappy dogs, we had (for the first time ever in 30 years’ membership) to move to a different pitch midway through our stay. We then found ourselves at the mercy of even more intrusion by way of more noisy dogs and someone with a very loud voice obviously managing his business and taking and making calls every few minutes. This simply is not good enough and the club needs to be much more proactive in ensuring that those of us who want a peaceful and restful holiday get just that.

Are you suggesting a new site rule requiring people to speak no louder than a whisper?

Did you not ask the noisy people to tone it down? It’s the obvious place to start followed by involving the warden because there is already a site rule requiring us to consider others and not cause annoyance.

This isn’t actually a fair review of the site itself but is a report of other members who were there on one particular occasion and how their behaviour seemed to impacte on you. I hope other prospective visitors won’t let it affect their decision to visit.

I’m just giving an accurate description of MY experience of this site.  What on earth would be the point of a review that glossed over the negative aspects of my experience? We’re asked to provide reviews not marketing hype.

It’s simply not a review of the site. You might as well say that the weather was awful as that bears no relationship to the site itself.

Try telling us something that’s not transient such as local attractions, availability of public transport, nearby eateries etc.

Your experiences can be told on the forum or even in stories but a site review is supposed to be just that to help fellow members decide if the site is right for them.

This is a site review! Nothing can be done about the weather.  Human behaviour is not inviolable.

I shall make no further comment about your pedantry.  I’m sure you must have had plenty of letters in the Club magazine.

You just don’t get it, to you? It’s not my pedantry but what reviews are about - sites.

I notice you haven’t commented regarding my earlier paragraph quoted below so I assume you did nothing other than moan in your 'review'.

Oh, well, better luck next time.
