Pleasant Autumn Break
Just returned home following a very pleasant week long break at Chatsworth. The weather could have been better but enjoyed the site and the surrounding area very much indeed. Facilities are excellent, as we have come to expect from the CAMC sites.
An observation regarding the comments already made by some members who do not like the queuing to get on site at 1pm. We arrived around 1.30pm and had to queue down the lane fairly near to the reception, being guided and advised by a member of the staff, so we thought that was acceptable.
If you've been to the York Rowntree Park Site, the arrival time is 12 noon, a similar situation to Chatsworth whereby the access road is virtually one way which is why departures and arrivals have set times to facilitate the process. At York, the wardens take your membership card on entry to the site and you are immediately requested to drive on and find a pitch, and return to the reception to book in and pay the bill later. This method results in speedy access to the site rather than each member having to book in first as happens at Chatsworth.
I would like to suggest that the York method be trialled at Chatsworth - I believe it would avoid much of the queuing down the lane at busy times and improve the situation greatly.
