Beautiful setting but there are downsides
The setting is incredibly beautiful and the site is a great base if you like to go walking. However, you are packed into the site like sardines and the pitches themselves are difficult to get into, you can't simply reverse in. Without a mover on your van you are likely to have difficulty. The site is not what you would call child friendly, with it being packed there is no room for children to wonder round and I saw several near misses with vehicles. However, it is a great place simply as a base and you can go and let off steam in Chatsworth's grounds. On arrival, the gentleman (warden I think) was not exactly the most helpful and was certainly not welcoming, however, the lady was lovely.
The road too the site is challenging and you have to park on a blind bend for reception (at the stop line), it would be interesting to know how many accidents there have been. This is the first time I've stayed on a Caravan Club site, being a new member, I hope its not a reflection of all others in terms of the practicalities.
