First time visiting Chatsworth, but won't be our last! Wonderful from the time we checked in to the moment we sadly left. Ali, Bill, Wendy & Paul (and 2 others who we missed) are super friendly, hard working wardens, who keep the site maintained beautifully. It's a very busy site so it's surprising they have the time to look after it so well!! Many thanks all....
The location is outstanding. Chatsworth House and grounds are vast and stunning. We picked up a sheet of walks from reception and did walk 5. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and enjoyed a truly fabulous walk, seeing forest, river, deer and scrubland, but only 3 other people in over 8 miles. We stopped for lunch at the Devonshire Arms which was a real treat.
We didn't take our dogs this time, but the dog facilities are perfect, wonderful large, secluded dog area and dog wash and miles and miles of walking!
We loved our stay, and will definitely be back next year.
Great site, but in some areas a victim of its popularity
We enjoyed our stay and have booked again for 2024. Excellent wardens, sheltered, excellent dog walk and of course the gate through to the Chatsworth grounds. A river for dogs and kids to swim/paddle in is just 5 minutes away. Several pubs just 15-20 minutes walk away.
But it is slightly affected by its popularity - always 100% full in the summer and some pitches are in need of a bit of TLC.

Great location, let down by pitch quality
Lovely location with good access to public transport & local village amenities. Great staff on site.
Super Pitch 16 to be avoided though, especially if you have a dog. Very poor quality awning area & tiny area of sparse grass under oak tree where acorns dropping meant not possible for dog to sit outside unsupervised (acorns very harmful to dogs if eaten). Standard pitches on site were far better quality than the more expensive super pitch which was the big let down for us on site.
Location brilliant for lovely walks of all lengths & Baslow well connected by public transport. Don’t rely on Hulleys buses though for your return journey as they regularly don’t turn up & don’t answer the phone if you try to call them to find out where your bus is!
Wonderful wardens
We have been going to Chatsworth CCS for many years and is one of our go to sites. The wardens are always very friendly and are seen daily working/walking around the site keeping up the excellent standards.
This year the wardens went above and beyond when we wanted to book for 2024 and had a problem with booking online which they quickly resolved.
We look forward to returning for many years to come
Thank you

Wow!
What an amazing site! Peaceful away from main road. Private site access to the stunning grounds of Chatsworth. A short walk to Baslow. Lovely friendly helpful staff; a well kept Site. Delicious Woodfired visiting pizza van on Sundays. We have already booked our return, what more can I say!

Ok but
We went to this site as we wanted to go to Chatsworth House, for this it was good as you are able to walk into the estate from the site. However, if just want a site to explore the Peak District then there other better sites to choose from as we found this site rather overcrowded with not much space between pitches.
JULY 2023
Fantastic site in a fabulous location - pitches are a decent size but are getting quite overgrown. Chatsworth estate is fantastic with beautiful gardens. Baslow has some lovely eateries and is a very pretty village.
Excellent location
Friendly warden greeting you on arrival. This is a large busy site and there always seems to be someone on the move. We did get a good fully serviced pitch with grass behind which was good for the dogs, the pitch also had a chemical disposal point which is the first we have ever experienced.
Great to have a key so you can walk in the grounds of Chatsworth House with our dogs, saw so many deer wandering around. We got a leaflet of walks around Chatsworth area from the site reception and completed a few of these in the beautiful surrounding countryside with our dogs. We walked to Bakewell which was another lovely walk and got the bus back to Chatsworth. Charming town with lots of interesting shops and delicious Bakewell tart. A short walk through Chatsworth estate can also take you to the village of Baslow, a few pubs to visit there. We walked to Chatsworth Farm shop and cafe which I would recommend to visit. We had a lovely lunch and bought items from the shop.
We only booked 3 nights here but wished we had booked 5 so hopefully will visit again.
Not so sure ?
After many attempts to book finally managed it, probably due to now taking deposits.
Upon arrival greeting was great lovely warden.
Local buses and village close to hand about 20 min walk.
Found our chosen pitch and set up, alot of pitches under trees not great in the rain.
Pitches do seem close together and not much in the way of privacy hedging.
Did notice some people not adhering to site rules regarding pitching correctly and not following site etiquette.
Overall our stay was ok but would not rush back, we can only assume the draw is the secret gate to Chatsworth estate.
We are sure people will still enjoy more than we did, 😊
Great site.
You can get the local buses from Chatsworth House, 10 min walk. Great site and facilities.
