Excellent site !

Lovely site , lovely wardens . Peaceful and handy base for local attractions especially Chatsworth house and farm shop . Have tried many times to book this site , because it's so popular it's always full . Key to the gate into Chatsworth Grounds a bonus , took advantage of the chance to walk along the river and admire the view every day . Of course always managed to find one fool ( not club members ) who thought the dogs on lead rule did not apply to them . Site spotless , well run , with the most pleasent wardens I've ever met . Even the nesting crows ( droppings and all ) did not bother me . The wild life was a joy . Only slight puzzle I had - why small camper vans / motor homes minus awnings / tow cars felt the need or were allowed to take an awning pitch . I only mention it as people who actually need an awning pitch cannot then get one .

Excellent site

We are new to caravans and have visited this site several times already. Fees are on the more expensive side but worth every penny. Site is extremely well maintained. Toilet block and facilities exceptionally clean. Staff always polite and offer help if needed. Good shop. For first time caravaners like us, I can't imagine a better introduction to the club.

Lovely site.

This has always been a lovely site, clean, tidy all the things you expect from Caravan Club sites. As it happens visiting in the spring means it's not so peaceful as usual because of the nesting crows and the competing pheasants, but it's not a complaint if you love country sites as we do this is something you expect and welcome as it means the wildlife is happy and thriving. A bit disappointed in the spare toilet used when the main blocks are closed for cleaning, I don't think it gets cleaned as regularly as the main blocks, lots of spiders web and leaves, though toilet facility itself was clean. Very dog friendly and pleasant wardens. Great transport links to surrounding towns and villages from Baslow a 10-15 minute walk away from site and the bus drivers are great as the bus route goes into Chatsworth Grounds so they will drop you off if you ask, rather than having to go back into the village. Very good information room with all the bus timetables, very helpful. Will always return to this site as it is surrounded by great walks and transport links, is dog friendly and has friendly helpful staff. Only real complaint some of the pitches are not very desirable and if we had arrived any later than we did and these were the only pitches left we would have turned round and gone home as these pitches, all hardstanding near the reception area are like pitching up on a car park, they are not the least bit welcoming, need a bit of work.

First time at Chatswoth Site

The whole of the site is spotless and clean including toilet / shower facilities which are very warm. All wardens very friendly. Having access to the Chatsworth estate directly from the site via a gate just off the dog walk is fantastic making it very easy and convenient for long walks around this huge country estate. The doggy wash is an absolutely fab idea and whilst we didn't need to use it as at no point in the week did our dogs get dirty there has been numerous occasions on other sites when this facility would have come in very handy so please can other sites adopt this great idea 🐶

Chatsworth for the first time

As most other reviews state, there is no doubt this is a superb site. The wardens were very friendly, the grounds are very well maintained and the facilities are absolutely immaculate. The children loved feeding the ducks on site. The play area was also a hit, as was the table tennis, which was a great addition and one which would be an idea for other club sites. The location is fantastic, not only because it the Chatsworth Estate, which is very impressive, though quite expensive, but there is such a variety of good walks available directly from the site. I hesitate to put a negative on the review but I do feel that £49.00 a night for a family of five is too much. It is significantly more than we've ever paid at any Caravan and Motorhome Club site before and seems a bit disproportionate compared with other club sites, despite it being an excellent site. It would be more acceptable if it came with a subsidy for Chatsworth House / Gardens. That said, we knew how much it would cost before we booked and having wanted to come to the site for so long, we're so pleased we finally did.

First time at Chatsworth.

What a great site. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We visited during Easter and was busy though quite and peaceful. If you like ducks it's heaven. It is a great site as a base to visit area. Fantastic walk to Chatsworth or nearby village. We would visit again. Bob and Marie from East Riding

Excellent site. Excellent Wardens

Although I live in Sheffield it is the first time I have visited the site. I found the site to be well run in very pleasant surroundings the wardens were particularly nice and made you feel very welcome. I will certainly visit again

First time on Camping and Motorhome site

As a relative newcomer to camper van holidays, we were delighted with our first experience of a Camping and Motorhome site. It was really well organised, staff went out of their way to help and the location was great. The shower and toilet facilities were warm, of a very high standard and were kept very clean and presentable. The pitches themselves were generous in their size and hook up and TV points were plentiful. Will definitely return and would recommend it wholeheartedly to others.

First Time Caravaner

We stayed at Chatsworth on the 20th April for 3 nights and this was our very first caravan holiday, I must say it was the most peaceful and relaxing holiday we have had in some years. The site was fantastic and the wardens were very helpful. We met lots of nice people who offered help and advice to us, they clearly recognised us as being new to this. Looking forward to visiting Chatsworth again in the near future. Special thanks for the lime, it complemented the G&T very well :-)

easter break

we stayed for 4 nights 19th to 23rd April. some pitches are very tight but the wardens said any problems they would help position our caravan for us but we managed to find a large pitch for our van. we had 4 excellent nights did the monsal trail and walked in the grounds of Chatsworth house. on departing on the sunday we had a problem with our electric hook up to the car the wardens were very helpful and Keith soon got us back up and running. we hope to return again soon but this site is very popular and always full.
