You're going to Birmingham?

The puzzled responses from friends on hearing that we were going to Birmingham showed what they don't know. Easily accessible from the M42 and great rural location. Well laid out and kept site. Walked in the nearby Lickie Hills (short drive away). Need to go back and explore more of the countryside and even go into Birmingham. Our short break was very refreshing but far too short to do justice to the location - will hopefully be back.

Friendly wardens

Stayed here for two nights 23rd and 24th Jan. Easy to find well situated close to motorway system especially M42 but was very quiet. There was a very friendly and helpful arrival from the wardens. It was a quiet time of the year so I cannot judge how it would be in the height of the season and have no idea if it is good for families being a lone traveller (therefore the 1* rating) but in Winter it was very peaceful although I was by no means the only outfit there. The shower block was spotless, warm and there was plenty of hot water for my shower. I was staying because of a family get together to celebrate a 100th birthday but looking on my Sat Nav there were plenty of interesting places nearby so could well be worth a longer stay to explore the area more. I would not hesitate to re-book. Although initially I thought the site a bit pricey I have changed my mind it was very well kept and all in all worth every penny.

super Wardens

This site is splendidly positioned with so much to see and do locally. Birmingham with its library, performance halls and its museums is impressive and nearby National Trust properties make for very good days out. may I draw attention to the wardens Mr and MrsHhunter and Wetton who were welcoming, affable and extremely helpful

A pleasure to be there

This site is beautifully located with so much to see and do and bus travel available from the site. We consider ourselves to have been fortunate to have been looked after by splendid wardens. The hunters and the Wettons could not have been more affable and helpful.

Friendly Wardens

First time at this site but won't be the last.Celebrated the New Year what a refreshing change from the normal frenzy.Wardens were great and always on hand if needed.Dog walk on site was adequate but we found the surrounding area had ample walking for our dog.Toilets and shower facilities were spotless and cleaned daily.

Did exactly what was needed!

I needed somewhere to stay in the race van while at an exhibition at the NEC. Easy motorway access, good access to site, nice hard standing plots even in terrible storm. Warm and clean toilet block was much appreciated.

Lovely site just wrong time of year

Been hear quite a few times now.  Always nice to return. We had 10 nights over the new year.  Handy for visiting places nearby.  We were near the road this time, morning and evening were quite noisy, my fault I suppose.  Not so the motorway when the wind was in the wrong directon though.  Wrong time of year, because the new dog walk was welcome but muddy.  Some pitches still flooding with relatively little rain, despite some work having been done.  Lovely wardens and spotless toilet blocks as usual.  Must try again in the summer.

Too Good to be a Storage Site.

Can't help feeling that this site is rapidly becoming more of a Storage Site. Most of the 'quiet' pitches, near the Bus Museum, a lot of them hardstanding Pitches, now appear to have stored Vans on them, whether permanent or not ?? Anyway, stayed here for a week over the New Year, visiting relatives as we have for many years, Becketts Breakfasts are still great, as is most of their food and drink. Like the new Dog Walk, dogs say 'Thankyou Wardens'. Refurbished Toilet Block is great, just the other one to do then  (when ?)  we will be back.

Winter visit

A good location for taking the bus into Birmingham.  Shame only 1 per day from the site but better than before.  Quiet and not too busy.
