Overnight Stay

We stopped at Chapel Lane on our way back home from Cornwall, arriving late due to horrendous traffic the staff were brilliant directing us to a Tarmac area where we just dropped our caravan feet leaving the car connected so we could grab a bite to eat and get our heads down. The facilities which we used the following morning were spotless. We would highly recommend this site and will certainly visit again and explore the local area.

Chapel Lane Marmite

We have been here several times and always enjoy our stays. The reception was looking very floral and the warden's work diligently for our benefit. The dog walk has improved since our last visit in January, though we often take our pooches by car to one of the many parks nearby, the lanes are both narrow and busy close by. Some road noise can be heard but we are close to the motorway network here and the road at the rear is very busy too. Birmingham, Shirley & Solihull are places we like to visit. I have heard several references to some non-awning pitches as a 'car park'. I think it is the Marmite effect, you either love or hate it. The site has some lovely clean pitches and you can choose your own

Ideal stop over or explore the area, September 2015

We stopped at Chapel Lane on route to Devon and were delighted! The pitches were all immaculately, non awning sites tarmac which I think is ideal for all the rain we have, keeps things cleaner without the mud when wet. Toilet blocks immaculate as well. Easy to find and close to the motorway for ease of access makes the location perfect! Once on site the peace and quiet was noticeable, lovely! We will be staying here again. Family rating not relevant as we are older members not travelling with children.

Good base to explore the midlands

Only stayed 1 night but enjoyed our trip. Thought the car park style pitch layout good as I find separate pitches tight normally. Lovely staff. Clean.

Non awning pitches not very desirable.

We were only on an overnight stay at this site and I had booked a non awning site so as to allow people staying longer to have the facility of an awning if they needed it, but I was very disappointed in the pitches when we arrived, they were on a car park, I felt like a new age traveller, no offence to them, but we don't pay a yearly membership fee and pitch fees to stay on a car park, this was at the end of our weeks holiday and if I had known we were going to be on a car park I would have booked an awning pitch regardless, we could have carried on going and slept overnight on a service station for free. It should state in the description when booking a pitch if non awning is going to be on a car park. Not a happy camper at all.

Convenient site for the Midlands

Good location for Birmingham, good clean site, Friendly and helpful staff. please be aware of pitch 105, we stayed last week and due to the heavy rainfall the awning was flooded, and it stayed wet for the length of time we were there which was 5 nights, however, the staff could not have been more helpful and even dried our dog bed for us as it was saturated.

Speed Awareness

Staying over the Bank Holiday we were delighted to see the Wardens wearing T Shirts printed with the logo used to promote awareness of the speed limit on sites. As we watched everyone arriving on the Friday evening it was noticeable that most drivers were sticking to the safe speed limit. Congratulations to the lovely wardens for such an inivitive idea and hope this was as successful on other sites and will be rolled out across the network

Lovely Green site

Stopped off between Norfolk holiday and home in Wales. Perfect spot, pitches to suit every need, just off motorway and feeling green. Slight traffic noise, but to expected and didn't bother us. Dog walk small but other walks off site. Will go back to explore Birmingham sometime. Washrooms wonderful, as expected at CC sites. Wardens very friendly and helpful.

City Site

We spent three nights on this site at the beginning of September. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by friendly wardens, and chose a very suitable pitch. With Birmingham close and a bus stop at the front door, a visit was mandatory. We spent day 1 in the city, and day 2 at Beckets Corner where we visited a cash and carry, farm shop and had an excellent lunch at the restaurant. This well located site with good public transport links is a gem. Well run by excellent friendly wardens, this is a site we will return to.

Surprising!!

I had a specific reason for needing to stay in the area - otherwise - this was not a place I would have chosen to spend 4 nights - however I was hugely surprised. This site is in easy striking distance of some very interesting places - the road network close by means you can easily set out in all directions. There is also some lovely countryside to enjoy and the canal network is superb and offers lovely relaxing walking. The site felt spacious, and very helpful/friendly wardens. Clean facilities. You can hear the traffic in the background - but it wasn't overly bothersome.
