Convenient Stopover

We used this site because of its convenience en-route Cornwall to Northumberland. Being midweek we had a choice of pitches and ended up on a tarmac hard standing close to the TB which suited us fine. As previously mentioned the toilet block is looking dated and the water pressure in the showers was poor. We would stay again because its only one night and we did not have to use our own facilities. However, we would not want to stay longer.

July Visit

Very central for visiting Birmingham, buses frequent. Very quiet on our midweek stay.  Facilities very clean, and lovely flowers and free herbs.  Quite rural away from the main road, nice walks, and really super farm shop very near.  Our first visit, and would stay again.  Easy to find campsite.

Endless Noise

We have stayed several times, mainly Saturday nights, at Chapel Lane, using it as a stopover en route to other parts of the UK. Generally we enjoy staying here as it is convenient and pleasant. In the past few years we have noticed an increase in noise from a nearby location playing very loud disco music or, even worse, live bands who just seem to shout or bang drums as loudly as possible. The visit this weekend 2 July, nearly drove us to distraction. We arrived at midday to the sound of disco music thumping away, then followed by a live band, which continued through until midnight. 12 hours of constant din after a very long drive and hoping for a quiet night's rest, with a long journey ahead the next day. To say we were distressed is putting it mildly. We know the CC probably cannot do anything about it, but we feel that a warning should be put on site information to make people aware. It really has put us off returning here again. And yes, time to update the facilities please!

A great stay

Had 7 nights at Chapel Lane and had a good stay. Very convenient site for Birmingham. Lots of shops and supermarkets within a short drive. Some good pubs too. As ever the Wardens are a font of knowledge and keep the whole site in A1 order. The flowers at reception and wild flowers round the site are great. Facilities are excellent (but 'top block' could benefit from updating, though immaculately clean. ) The ONLY thing to make the best better is to put a gravel/Tarmac path over the grass to the entrance to dog walk, to prevent very wet feet when it rains. This is but a very small observation which does not detract from the pleasure in staying at Chapel Lane.

Handy for Birmingham

Stayed here for 4 nights and found the site fairly caravan club standard. We found the wardens very friendly and helpful. A big effort has been made at the entrance to the site with the flower displays which lifts the area. The site is mainly hard standing and has 2 toilet blocks, which were clean and tidy. Unfortunately the dreaded shower curtain kept attacking me. The cubicle felt small but the water was hot and powerful. A small local road runs next to the site so some pitches close to this road could suffer from a little bit of noise. The site is very handy for the M42, Birmingham and the NEC.

Could be better - down on previousvisit

Unfortunately the current wardens do not seem to be able to cut the grass areas close enough or frequently enough. Long grass between pitches. We selected a pitch (9) too close to the road which passes by the site so there was constant road noise and we suffered from a weak Wifi signal which was inconvenient. Previous stay at the site was better from memory but it still had good clean facilities etc and is close to M42 motorway and links to Birmingham which was important for us.

Lovely site

I can say this is a lovely site, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the site is very clean, and the toilet and showers are clean, lovely hot water at all times, I also love the independent little wash rooms, I will certainly be going there again.

Mid distance break.

Decided to make it a mini break rather than a one nighter. Glad we did as found plenty to do in area . Some nice walks nearby and excellent farm shop. But car is needed for most things. Pitches nice size and facilities excellent. Dog walk was fine for early morning exercise and evenings. Only complaint was our pitch was in very noisy road traffic area. We did not appreciate this until we had awning up. It was bad enough that I think it merits adding to site description and mention when booking in. Regardless we enjoyed site and would use again. Connection to Motorway network makes it even better.

One night stopover

Just spent one night at Chaoel Lane on our way South and home. Well laid out site, nice clean facilities, warm welcome from the wardens. Pitches felt quite spacious. Easy drive to Birmingham if you have a car but little to walk to if you are in a motorhome. Definitely would use again.
