Mid distance break.

Decided to make it a mini break rather than a one nighter. Glad we did as found plenty to do in area . Some nice walks nearby and excellent farm shop. But car is needed for most things. Pitches nice size and facilities excellent. Dog walk was fine for early morning exercise and evenings. Only complaint was our pitch was in very noisy road traffic area. We did not appreciate this until we had awning up. It was bad enough that I think it merits adding to site description and mention when booking in. Regardless we enjoyed site and would use again. Connection to Motorway network makes it even better.

One night stopover

Just spent one night at Chaoel Lane on our way South and home. Well laid out site, nice clean facilities, warm welcome from the wardens. Pitches felt quite spacious. Easy drive to Birmingham if you have a car but little to walk to if you are in a motorhome. Definitely would use again.

Whitsun Break

Lovely break at Chapel Lane. Neil and the team of wardens are really friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water and very clean shower blocks even though the site was very busy. A visit to Becketts farm shop is a must if you are having a barbeque as their meat is excellent.

Are first Motorhome Holiday

We hired a motorhome for a week to see if we would like it and are first night stopover was Chapel Lane. After doing battle with the M5 on a Friday we arrived around 7:30 pm. We received a very friendly greeting from the Lady Warden and advise the pitches that were available to us. Setting up was no problem and by 8:00 pm we tucked into our tea. would use this site again no problem.

Really good site in good location

This was my second visit to Chapel Lane but the last time was 6 years previously. I like the site and there have been some improvements including some lovely serviced pitches. If you hate traffic noise you need to avoid the far end of the site adjacent to Middle Lane. This is a moderately busy road and the pitches in that part are very close to it. As a city boy, this does not trouble me at all and I was not unhappy by the fact that the only good, free pitches I could find were in exactly that place. The facilities are good, the pitches big and the site has a spacious feel with plenty of greenery without being over wooded. The wardens were great. I had a bit of trouble as, after I had spent 30 minutes setting myself up, I was advised that the pitch had been previously taken by what was now an absent motorhome. The wardens kindly let me remain once it became clear that a 3-inch-diameter, clay ashtray, left on the ground by the peg, which I had not previously spotted, did not really count as being sufficient to indicate occupation. There is a bus from outside the site into Birmingham but only once a day and not on Sundays. However, you can walk to the next nearest stops with more frequent buses (hourly) in about 15 minutes – just beyond Beckett’s Farm Shop inside Alcester Road. Wythall Station is 35 minutes walk where you get trains into Birmingham or to Stratford. The farm shop is lovely if you are feeling wealthy and there is a restaurant here too. If you are into buses, especially Midland Red buses, the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Trust run the Wythall Transport museum which is right next door to the site. The best time to visit is when event days are held when there are rides on vintage and classic buses – through the lovely country side of Arden or into Birmingham. These occur on bank holiday week-ends mainly but a look at their web site will reveal all. I suspect that, for many, this is a stopover type site. But I like it a lot as a site to visit in its own right because it is well worth it.

Bob and Ralph visit Birmingham

We used this site for a family visit but would visit again for the nature of the site and its great location. The site itself has spacious pitches and plenty of green space and trees - you could easily forget how close it is to Birmingham. The on-site dog walk is well laid out and maintained, and off-site there are footpaths easily accessed by turning just past the church along the edge of the farmyard and into the fields beyond. Don't overlook the Transport Museum; and extensive collection and good value for money. We drove to Lapworth and walked along the canals, in the steps of Tim and Prue - great countryside and canal-side architecture. I am afraid we are guilty of gongoozling. The wardens were very helpful and friendly, and the site and facilities are really well maintained. This site offers easy access to a wide range of countryside and culture - well worth visiting!

Great location

Excellent well placed site, convenient for many outings and activities. Only problem was getting woken up at 6.30 by so many DOGS! Is it the Caravan Club or the Kennel Club! High standard of cleanliness and helpful wardens, as usual.
