We love Castleton and this site is very well situated. It’s a safe flat walk to the village. There can be quite a lot of road noise and if the site is full it does feel a bit tight and congested on the pitches and wash room area. The warden is a bit rude on arrival eg we were 5 mins late and kept saying in quite a stern voice “stay in your vehicle we aren’t ready yet” even tho I was just sitting on a wall and was happy to wait. I heard him say this to many others when they arrived which isn’t a very nice welcome. The lady in the office must have said she was ready and to let people in because I heard him say “well don’t bust a gut”!!!!! We might return but it wasn’t our favourite site in Derbyshire.
