Scenic Castleton
This is a well maintained site with friendly and helpful wardens. Shower block is kept very clean. The dog walk on site is not for exercising but mainly for toiletting as it is very small. There is some road noise so parking at top of site recommended.
Castleton is only a short walk away along a busy road where there are a few cafes, shops and pubs. The bakers is highly recommended as is the cream tea at The Rambler’s Rest, which is also dog friendly. There is a scenic walk to Hope through fields and partly by the river. Dogs have to be kept on leads some of the way as there are sheep inhabited fields to cross. Some stiles to negotiate too. Our dogs are used to being off lead and we found that this was not possible most of the time. All in all, a lovely site in a very picturesque part of the country,
