Love Castleton site

Recently had our annual October stay. As per usual lovely clean site. Wardens are lovely, friendly & helpful. 10 minute walk into the village with plenty of places to eat & drink. Great for walking. One thing though, after observing, we just don’t understand why people turn up at 12noon when arrival times are 1pm, therefore end up queuing & blocking the drive!

First stay with the club

If the other sites are like Castleton, then I'm going to enjoy staying at them. Castleton was excellent so clean and tidy. The toilets and showers were spotless. The pitches were ample in size and plenty to choose from. Ideal for a base and getting around the Hope Valley. I will definitely stay again.

No help when needed

On arrival staff seemed very helpful, there was a long queue but they dealt with it very quickly but on my departure I had a flat battery on my car, I found a member of staff to see if they had any jump leads only to be told use the AA( I am a member) The AA came and sorted the problem but I was late departing and I explained this to the staff. The only time the staff came to see me was when they needed the pitch for a another Caravan. The man said in front of the AA man I could have got the tractor and jump leads to have sorted you. We both looked at each other in shock at this comment, there is either a lack of communication between the staff or the lady was having a bad day. We were very disappointed with the lack of help as most sites we have been on the staff are very helpful.

In my top three....

I have stayed at Castleton a number of times and it remains in my top three of CC sites. It's ideally located for walking and cycling in the beautiful countryside yet only a short walk into the village where there are shops for essentials and a number of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Good transport links for buses, and trains the next village, Hope, which is walking distance. The site itself is well maintained with spotless up to date facilities. The wardens are friendly and very helpful...in particular Tricia, who went out of her way to ammend my bookings to enable me to attend two hospital appointments. Looking forward to returning soon.

Most relaxing and superb site

The location of the site is perfect for Castleton, local walks directly from there, with the opportunity to visit Peveril Castle. We also had the most delicious cob and chips from The Three Roofs Cafe, and the little shop opposite is perfect for souvenirs and ornaments too. The facilities where spotless all the time, and the added bonus of a dog walk too

First time at Castleton

This was our first visit to this site, and we were very impressed, and really enjoyed our 4 night stay. The site is well laid out with plenty of space between pitches. The site although busy was very peaceful and great for a well earned rest. the site was always clean and tidy and the wardens all very friendly and helpful. the whole area is very pretty and scenic

Great Location

Just returned from 5 x nights on a serviced pitch. First thing to say is that the site staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Site is immaculate throughout. Access to and from public road is great. Only pity is that the road can be a bit of a race track that is popular with motorcycles!

Lovely site, pls make it easier to use games equipment

Lovely clean site, very helpful wardens. Great for walking and visiting the caves. A games room is an excellent addition and makes this site better for families. However when we visited the only times to get table tennis and pool cues was between 10-11 am and 1 and 5 pm. We wanted to play in the evening after a day out. I suppose there have been lost items in the past? I don't wish to take up wardens valuable evenings handing out equipment but I wondered if there was an easy solution? Many thanks for another great stay.
