Peace and Tranquility in a Beautiful Setting

Very impressed with the Carsington Water site. If you have a family, this is an ideal site as it has a large and well-equipped play area. If, however, you're like us and are just a couple, there is a peaceful and very quiet section at the top of the site. The setting is spectacular with fantastic views over the Water, which is but a short walk away. There's plenty of excellent dog-walking areas and the facilities are clean, neat and well maintained. This was our second visit of the year and we're already booked in for a third stay. There's lots to do in the local area as well and the historic town of Ashbourne is only a few miles away. I would strongly recommend members booking this attractive site.

Amazing site

We had a wonderful weekend stay, the site was very clean & tidy, shower blocks the same. There are great dog walks around the site and also good walks to Carsington water without going on any roads. The site is kept to a very high standard with wardens and gardeners constantly keeping the site immaculate highly recommend it and we will be back. Dave, Linda and dog Bramble.

First Visit

As new members of the Caravan Club this was our first experience of caravan club sites.  Having adopted a dog just before Christmas last year small B & B was no longer an option for our hiking trips, so we bought a (cheap/old) caravan just to see how we got on with it. On arrival the warden at reception was very friendly and extremely helpful.  We found our allotted pitch easily and set about putting up the awning for the first time, not an easy task with no knowledge or written instructions for guidance. A fellow member we had never met before gave us the benefit of his knowledge and did most of the work while we stood by, watched and learned.  For that we are extremely grateful. When it came to pegging down we had no suitable pegs however our helper told us steel pegs were available for sale in the camp shop.  Although it was after hours the warden very kindly opened up and supplied our needs.  Even though they are in the process of working on pitches we found the site very peaceful and quiet.  Everything was clean and tidy and the toilet block was immaculate a credit to the cleaning staff.  The dog walk was conveniently close and well signed.  We'll be back.

Radio in Facilities

The site is nice & clean, good dog walk, and I noted some pitches being re-gravelled whilst we were there. however do we really need the radio in the facility block, I assume this must cost the club for a 'licence' when showering you can't hear it, and for anything else you are not in there long enough, and also some of the presenters & music on radio 2 are rubbish anyway, some people go away to get away from it !!

Poor wifi. Poor TV

It is time the Caravan Club upped its game concerning the internet coverage on its sites. It might be an idea to look at cheaper providers, then if you can't get connection at least you aren't paying through the nose for a poor service. Go into any hotel in France even the cheapest motels and the Internet is "free " Yes I realise that I am paying for the service in the hotel accommodation, but it is there and reliable. I can go into pubs, coffee shops, even supermarkets and receive free internet connection. Now on to the TV reception. How long do we have to wait until all sites have decent coverage by means of a booster if necessary. Not everyone wants to listen to the radio or do jig saw puzzles.  The site was clean and tidy, but I expect nothing less from the Caravan Club.

Excellent site

We spent four nights at this wonderful site visiting family, places of interest and just chilling. We agree with many of the previous reviews about cleanliness, flowers, play areas, woodland walk around the site, dog areas, 5min walk to Carsington water etc.  Have to say we looked at many of the pitches and could not see an issue with sizes, that is unless you might have a 30ft unit.  Will visit again!

Our very 1st Caravanning experience

This was our very 1st caravanning experience, and although we have little to compare to, we found the staff very friendly and helpful, the site was very clean, toilet/shower block also very clean. The site is set within woodland and is so peaceful, (at night it is absolutely silent). We took our 2 dogs and found the dog walking area around the woods ideal. Although our kids are all grown up now, the small play area was ideal and would easily keep our grandchildren amused. We would definitely come back to this site again.

Peace and Tranquility, love it!

My Husband and I accompanied our 2 dogs for a 6 night stay at this site. The toilet facilities are immaculate and plentiful, never had to wait for anything. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Yes the local bus does allow dogs at £1 each. Plentiful walks and wonderful scenery. Close to local amenities (cafes and pubs). Superb holiday we will definitely visit again.
