Great location

Stayed here for 3 nights in the third week of October . Have two dogs so was pleased that although the walking area within the site was small if you crossed the road at the entrance to the site and walked 100 yards to the left there was an entrance into the chalk pits which allowed safe off lead exercise for my two animals.  Also the bus service into Cambridge was excellent. A five minute walk past the entrance to the chalk pits ( left at the Entrance to site ) take a right at the end of the road then a right at the traffic lights. 50 years ahead opposite the Robin Hood pub is the bus stop which runs into Cambridge every 10 to 15 mins. £4.20 1 adult return to the city Center. Every 20 mins on a Sunday. Exploring Cambridge is a must, would recommend the hop on hop off bus which takes you to all the main areas of interest with a running commentary . Would also recommend the punt trip on the river cam as this takes you to areas in accessible by foot. The site itself has helpful friendly wardens  and the toilet blocks are kept extremely clean. If you have young children there is no play area. The Robin Hood pub is dog friendly and offers good food at a reasonable price. If you carry on walking past the pub you will reach the village of cherry Hinton where there are plenty of take out options including a Chinese and Indian. We tried the Chinese which was very nice.  All in all a great 3 night stay and we would definetley return even though the trip was 245 miles ( south Wales ) Mark and June ( plus our two Tibetan terriers ) Motorhome owner
