Cross Your Fingers for a Good Pitch
On the plus side the directions in the Site book are spot on, follow them and ignore your sat nav. Be careful during the last 150mtrs in Lime Kiln Lane. This is a very narrow road with oncoming traffic encroaching over the white line, I doubt two caravans could pass without problems. On exiting the site this is done on a wing and a prayer. Although there is a viewing mirror opposite the exit by the time you see an oncoming vehicle it's almost on top of you and travelling at some speed.
The site itself is fine but there are some dark and dismal pitches, I agree with "DOUBLO", take some earplugs if you get under the trees. The Toilet block is immaculate and always warm. Ten minute walk to the "Robin Hood" Pub, decent food but shocking service. Bus stop opposite pub takes you into Cambridge, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We shall return but hopefully we will catch the wardens in a better mood, a refresher course in communication and people skills is required, the last time I was spoken to like this was from a regimental sergeant major, "Enough Said".
