A great site - entirely positive!
I approached our week at Cherry Hinton with some trepidation after reading some rather negative comments about the male warden posted by a minority of members. We found both wardens to be helpful and friendly - the negative reviews just feel like the caravanners in question are overly sensitive and not used to dealing with people. Everyone is different - don't stress out and leave negative comments for such a lovely site. Wardens are individuals and do a great job. This site is relatively small and compact and needs a firm hand at the tiller to keep it on track - there are not big open spaces where you can drive round with your van looking for a pitch, so the wardens invite you to walk the short distance and choose your pitch before you leave the entrance area. Felt a bit weird at first, but fully understand the case why this is in place. The amenities block is the cleanest and tidiest I think we have ever visited - well done. Cambridge itself is really accessible, although very busy with bikes. The Fitzwilliam museum is a must visit attraction. Punting on the Cam is also fun, but on the pricey side (the museum is free and you can easily spend all day there) There are 3 good National Trust properties within easy driving distance - Wimpole, Anglesey Abbey and Ickworth - all are superb So we had a fantastic week and I for one would like to put on record my personal thanks to the wardens.
