As I am staying on my own with my small dog, I can not really comet on for families. There is a Lidl very close by with in walking distance if need be. Also a short walk through a wooded area for dogs. Easy from the M5 and find Lidl and turn opposite on the right. Padlocked gate at night, with a number code if needing to leave for an early departure. Would use again, if in the area. Thanks to the staff for their extreme help whilst on this site.
What a Gem
Have been passing by for years enroute to Cornwall, this year we decided to have a break and stop the night at Cadeside. It’s true you don’t know what you’re missing until you find it. What a great stop. Very well maintained site with two lovely wardens, Mandy and Debs, no real noise issues so I’d suggest peacefully located, just 15mins walk from the centre of an historic town. We took the wardens valuable advice on where to eat in the evening and strolled across to Lidl for fresh pastries in the morning. Perfect. We both remarked we need to return for a longer stay as there are clearly a lot of places we’d like to visit using Cadeside as a perfect base.

electrics problem!
Paul Kenyon (temporary warden) helped us sort out our electric problem! We didn't realise that the electric setup on the posts had changed and we were very grateful for his assistance.
Nice site. The traffic noise was not very loud and didnt bother us. Lidl across the road was very handy.

Lovely Site - Just like a large CL. Very Close to Wellington, Somerset
I was travelling from North Wales to Exeter and had visited the * Dr Edward Jenner Museum in Berkeley, Gloucestershire on the way and needed an overnight stay and found the Cadeside Site by chance. I was so pleased I did. It has only 16 hardstanding pitches in an attractive woodland type setting with lovely willow trees and nicely mown grass between the pitches. I arrived just before the 6.0pm deadline and was greeted by Mandy who could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She recommended the Jade Garden Chinese take away,
in Wellington and later I partook of a very tasty meal from there.
Adjacent to the site, but not visible from it is a large new Lidl store which I found convenient,
and the town of Wellington is only a walk of 3/4 of a mile away.
The CAMC handbook for the site says that there is a main road passing nearby and a railway track so there is some noise. I never really noticed noise from either and it would not stop me from staying at the site again. Which I would like to do in the near future and to stay longer in order to visit the local area.
There is a very nice dog walk through what I can only describe as a wooded tunnel - overhanging trees and bushes to the side.
* Dr Edward Jenner (1749-1823) an English physician and scientist who pioneered the concept of vaccines and created the smallpox vaccine, the world's first vaccine. Smallpox killed more people in the history of the world than any other disease. Thanks to Jenner, smallpox remains the only human disease to have been eradicated through vaccination.
Berkeley, where the Museum is, is a pleasant small town about an hours drive up the M5. Well worth a visit.

Lovely site well located!
Lovely stop over on returning from Wales. Debs and Mandy were very helpful and knowledgeable.
The dog walk in site is perfect and so is the location. This was our second stay and we definitely be back soon! Top marks fabulous site!
Excellent location to break up long journeys to the South West.
Feel a bit mean scoring 1 for facilities and cleanliness - there should be a n/a option as there are no facilities (ie no toilets nor showers) at Cadeside. There is waste disposal and fresh water, and electric hook up. There is some road noise, but we didn't find it too intrusive. The site itself is very well maintained and neat. Very friendly wardens.
We use the site for an overnight stop and to break up a long journey from the north when we are heading to the south west. It's very conveniently located, just off the M5. There is a very large, clean, modern Lidl located just across the road from the site, (5 mins walk) so very handy for stocking up on essentials.

More of a stop-over than a holiday destination.
Stayed at Cadeside for one night which meant the lack of a toilet block was not an issue. Access to the site is 5 minutes from the M5 along wide roads presenting no towing challenges at all.
It is not a peaceful site, being adjacent to the Wellington bypass which gives a background hum of traffic noise until later into the evening and quite a din during rush hour. There is a newly built Lidl store right next to the site (conveniently) and a delivery arrived at 2.30 am, the sound of cages being taken of an idling lorry was enough to wake us up. Lidl is great for breakfast pastries (and also has a customer toilet).
Pitches are all hard standing, and not all are completly level. There is a very good chemical disposal point within easy reach of all 16 pitches along with a water and grey-water point.
Wellington itself is actually quite charming and is only 3/4 mile walk to the centre where there are some nice local cafes and a Wetherspoons. It's a local town for local people, not a tourist spot in any way although it does have a fascinating museum. If you wanted to do some exploring of this part of somerset this is actually a very well located and great value site if you don't mind the lack to tranquility. There were some people who had been there several days and were really enjoying it.
Very Convenient Site
On the opposite side of the road, Lidl is now open which makes this site even more convenient for a night stop when on the long journey to and from the South West. Pity there is no motorhome service point and the site photos are way out of date, the grass pitches were turned into hardstandings years ago.
We need more sites like this.
Always a pleasure
Always a pleasure to stay at Cadeside, just 2 hours from our home in Truro so a good stop off point easy access from the M5, quiet nice pitches will be back at end of September and again in 2024
Excellently Located Site
We stayed here for four nights last week. This site is only about an hour from home. Easy to get to, very well maintained with large spacious pitches. Has a Lidl store located across the road from the site and bus stops to either Wellington or Taunton and beyond, so we could leave our Motorhome on site. This is the second time we’ve stayed here this year, and will definitely be back. The only downside is that we couldn’t get the free Wi-Fi to work, but hopefully the CAMC will look into this and get it upgraded.
