Good for families

Friendly, peaceful and welcoming

One of the best C&MHC sites we have visited. We stopped here for a single night on our way back from a longer trip and found it an ideal short stop. After asking specifically at reception, we stopped in a pitch at the higher end of the site, where TV reception was fine and there was a phone signal. My Tesco/O2 phone could only get 3G, which doesn't provide data these days, but my wife's 3 phone had good 4G. I used the club WiFi, which had a strong signal, but very limited/intermittent bandwidth. The pitches are well laid out and roomy, and the toilet/washing facilities are clean and well appointed. The site staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the secret fairy garden/port in the stream by our pitch added a bit of glamour and mystery, especially when lit up at night! We didn't venture out into Buxton, as my wife has limited mobility and to be frank we were tired, but our drive through and stop at a local shop before we arrived suggested it would be well worth a visit ! Oh and the cakes in reception looked lush. Unfortunately I was banned from buying any of them by the Commander in Chief !!!!!!
