No complaints

The site is comparably with other CC sites and has no obvious faults. The Caravan Club web page indicated the site was full but we booked by phone and there were ample pitches available. Papers ordered on each of the three days of our visit. Plenty of dog walking off-site among the woods to Pooles Cavern and Buxton and also the paths to Solomon Temple. We returned home considerably fitter than when we arrived, everywhere is uphill on the way out or way back to the site, and those of limited mobility or pushchair users would struggle to walk far from the site. There appears to be no mobile phone coverage on site but a land line phone is available. There was heavy rain one night but the site drained well and pools/puddles were minimal. Just spent four nights at Buxton and we were impressed by this peaceful & friendly site. Ideal for accessing nearby walks with the dog and some nice dog friendly pubs in the area too. The facilities are great, all nice and clean & there is a good TV reception with the use of an extension cable. As new members we were happy with our stay & will visit again.

Weekend break

We have just had a little weekend break to start our season off. We don't live to far from this site. But access was great into the site and we arrived a little early but it was not a problem at all. Staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Site facilities were extremely clean also the same for the site. We will be visiting again very soon for another weekend break.

Lovely setting

We have just arrived back after staying two nights on this site. The location is perfect - in an old quarry, and within walking distance of Buxton town centre. The pitches are large and the site is well maintained. The wardens are extremely helpful and friendly. Our only gripe is with some caravanners who think everyone wants to listen to their radio. We could hear the radio of the people next door when our windows and door were closed. Definately not peaceful!!!

Great base site

We stayed here for five nights just after the easter break, the wardens were very helpfull and knowledgeable of the local area, and did a good job keeping the site spick and span,my wife uses a dissability scooter and found it nigh on impossible to go anywhere form the site on it,that said the surrounding towns and villages were accessible to her, from the site you could go walking in the peaks for mile upon mile, although there wasnt a dog walk on site there were plenty of places to exercise your dog within a hundred metres of the site, one small down point, there was a public picnic area next to the site which did get noisey on a couple of occasions, but from mid april the warden locks the gates to the picnic area so late night noise, would i visit again, yes i would.

Easter visit

We recently visited the site for a long easter break, as we don't live too far away we decided to arrive on the Thursday before good Friday so we could get a pitch near the play area for our toddlers. The site is well spaced out but all pitches are close enough for the shower block. Although the site was fall there was still peace and quite and . The only fault I had and it wasn't anything to do with the site, it was parents letting there older children do what the hell they liked... They were running between pitches around vans till late on at night where there is electric cables and areals they could rip out.  Apart from that a very nice site and lovely walks around the area, a lovely pub as you go into buxton the duke which welcome kids dogs and muddy feet. Will be visiting again soon.

Great base for touring the Peak District

We have enjoyed staying at this site (as a family of 4) in our motorhome for the week following Easter Sunday. The site was half full following the Easter Weekend and got busy again from the following Thursday. The weather was fantastic over this period ! The pitches are large and we never felt overcrowded even when the site was full. We paid for WiFi (through the CC) when onsite, and the speed of the internet was adequate when the site was half full, but got slow when the site was near full. The toilet and shower blocks were kept very clean and tidy throughout our weeks stay and it was only a short walk from all pitches to a water point/waste water disposal point. The Site Wardens were very helpful when we arrived and thoughout the duration of our stay. We decided to leave the motorhome on the site and to hire a car through the Caravan Club's deal with Enterprise Car Hire. Enterprise have an outlet in Buxton (although this is on the other side of the town). However, they will pick you up from the site to collect your hire car and will bring you back to the site after you return the car to them. We will definately return to this site in future as it is well positioned for visiting the whole of the Peak District and is good for all age groups
