Pleasant Weekend

Very friendly welcome and easy to site van. Cannot fault this site, great location with easy access to Bury & Manchester (via 135 Bus from Bury). Quiet during the evening with no noise from surrounding area. Overall a very peaceful weekend for the first outing of the year. Will certainly come back.

Lovely site

Stayed at Burrs for 6 nights during a 700 mile tour of England and it was lovely. everything was immaculate and although by the end of my stay the site was pretty much full it was a peaceful haven, I will definately be back! The cobbled road leading to the site is a bit of a bone shaker and beware a small dip in the road just before you come to the very short but quite steep incline into the car park, especially if you arrive late as it is really dark. Even though you are right near the centre of Bury it doesnt feel like a town setting. lovely views and the pub beside the site is fab!

Lovely time

just returned from this lovely site, where we enjoyed a very nice long weekend. The site was spotless as it is with all c.c. Sites. We could not get a picture on our TV owing to signal failure on the site and we were prepared to do without, but one of the wardens went the extra mile and rigged up a temporary system which gave us t.v. viewing for the rest of the w/end. There is a lovely pub ( the brown cow ) just yards from the entrance of the site which served excellent food and beer and a very warm atmosphere. Thank you all for making our weekend special.

Good Caravan Site

Our first time here and we will return. Very peaceful and my husband enjoyed the trains. The pub close by does very good food at reasonable prices. The site itself is very clean and the pitches are spacious. The only one thing is that the road to the site is cobbled and there are a few pot holes near the entrance of the site. Good walks and easy to walk into Bury itself.

Still a great site

This was my third visit to Burrs Country Park and it is consistently great, spotlessly clean, nice wardens, ideal setting. We use the site predominantly to get into Manchester (usually for gigs) and its a short walk or cab ride to the Metrolink and only £4.80 return to Manchester. Burrs Park is a really popular spot, especially on a weekend. The trains going past are great (heritage diesels last weekend which were blooming noisy but great to see!). We will keep coming back.

Lovely Caravan Site

Recently stayed here, to visit family who all live close by. This was our first organized trip in our Campervan , and this site did not disappoint. Warm, and clean facilities, handy for public transport and local walks, and a good pub on site. What else can ask for? Being an original 'Ramsbottomonian" couple who currently live abroad, it was good to be back home, and see how the area has changed for the better. Will definitely visit this site again.

Another Winner

This site as all the usual and expected standards provided by the CC and it's wardens. We have just had our first trip out for 2015 here. Nearby, I would recommended the East Lancashire Railway which is a twelve mile heritage railway line and runs between Rawtenstall and Heywood with intermediate stations at Bury Bolton Street, Summerseat, Ramsbottom and Irwell Vale. It's really is like going back in time!. You can make a full day of this, getting on and off at the small towns listed above. The line also passes directly by the site.  http://www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk  Bury market was how I remember markets to be!  A two hour experience at least! For something to eat try the Pack House Inn, with great views and very good, reasonably priced food. ( a 15 min drive towards Tottington). http://packhorseataffetside.co.uk There are lots of riverside walks just by the site.  Very good TV and mobile phone reception.

Great Site

This was are second visit to this park and again we were not disapointed. The site is in a really secluded part of Bury and is perfect for a break away from the usual hustle and bustle. The facilities are always spotless and the site is neat and trim. It's only a 5 minute drive from the fantastic Bury market and you could be in the Trafford Centre in about 15 minutes, so all in all a great place to stay. Will definately be back.

Not What You Think of as Bury!!

I had been told about this site by several people, but having previously worked in Bury for over 20 years the thought didn't particularly grab me. However having decided I need to give my van the first run out of the year and it only being 40 minutes from home, I booked it for one night mid week. Once I got to the site it could have been a million miles from Bury. Set in a country park beside the river Irwell with plenty of walking opportunities from the van door. The shower block was spotless as was the entire site. The pub at the entrance was warm and welcoming. Will definitely be returning.

A very enjoyable first caravan experience

Just come back from a weekend away at Burrs Country Park and as this was my families first outing in our first caravan I must say if all the sites we visit are as pleasant as this one then we are in for a treat every time we go away. The site was easily accessible, the staff were very friendly. The facilities were immaculately clean and the kids enjoyed the steam train passing every few hours from the East Lancs Railway. The Brown Cow is the local pub which is literally just off site and the food & drink are very nice with friendly staff. The famous Bury market is a 5 minute drive away and there seem to be plenty of little walks around if your interested in this. My family and I are already looking to book to come back here in the near future so if your contemplating visiting here then I highly recommend it.
