This is the third time we have visited this site over 4 years and the potholes on the access road get deeper and deeper. This is exacerbated by the illegal parking of motorhomes and caravans on the access road making some potholes unavoidable. This is a problem that the CAMC seem unable to solve..,,,as was with Cirencester!
The other is the the nightly raiding of the dustbin areas by foxes. Whilst this can be quite cute the site staff do warn you NOT to leave food or shoes out in awnings or outside overnight as they might/will get ‘foxed’.
Otherwise a quiet site with easy access to Brighton Marina and the waterfront.
Early summer break
We have just spent a long weekend at the site and were lucky to have beautiful weather for all of our stay. The site is large and quite easy to travel around to find a suitable pitch, it is worth checking out the site map before you visit to get a feel for the geography. Many of the pitches are overshadowed by mature trees and the associated hazards of bird droppings (mainly pigeons) on the vehicle roofs but we were able to find a pitch to suit that also benefited from the evening sunshine. The facilities block was very clean and not crowded at peak times.
There is a coffee and snack shack on site during the week which also makes paella on Friday evenings for preorder. The wardens were cheery and friendly and tried their best to resolve any issues or dilemmas.
The site has good access to local bus services, a short walk away and has easy access to the brilliant cycle route which runs along the seafront to Hove and beyond.
The approach road to the site through East Brighton Park has loads of potholes so take care as one in particular stretches across the road!!
Excellent site
We visited over the Easter period spending 9 nights here. The Wardens were all very approachable, helpful and knowledgeable, probably the best I have met. The site is well located, the facilities kept impeccable by the Wardens, and of a very high standard.
Definitely visiting again highly recommend although the prices are very high

Get rid of the noisy lawnmower!
This is without doubt the best CAMC site in the country. Perfect facilities, feels like you're in the countryside but you're only 30 minutes walk from the centre of Brighton. Staff are lovely too and the cafe was a welcome addition! There's just one thing that bugs me... that damn lawnmower/buggy thing that is SO noisy at 9am!! Not all.of us want to get up early when we are on holiday you know? In this day and age, SURELY they should be investing in a rechargeable electric one rather than that awful noisy petrol thing? It's literally the only thing that spoils what would otherwise be a perfect site.
Great site and location
Clean, friendly staff. Great to have Phillipe and his coffee on site.
Will definatelly return.
Absolutely loved it
We have just returned from a week at Brighton and have never visited this part of the country before.
Wow, what can we say, an absolutely amazing place for all age groups and we had the best holiday, just the 3 of us. We enjoyed it so much, we're going to return next year and possibly tour more of that coastline.
Wardens on the site, were extremely friendly and the facilities were spotless. Lovely little van selling coffees and cakes pitched at the entrance.
Bus stop was about 10/15 minute walk with buses running every 5 mins into Brighton Town Centre, if you feel the walk would be too much. If you are up to it, it's a lovely walk along the sea front, with an array of cafes, bars & sports activities.

Watch the potholes on the way in!
Nice friendly staff, excellent facilities, clean and tidy site. Everything well laid out and marked.Watch out for foxes...they will steal your stuff if you leave it outside and they can get in the bins without a problem. Perfect for an overnight stay and saving on a hotel while visiting Brighton for a family party. Got the night bus back from town (bit of an experience!) and walked the rest of the way from the Roedean Road stop.
My only grumble was the state of the access road on the way in (the only road in) has a HUGE pothole that is difficult to see. As you drive into the access road from the main road there is a park on your right, then just after that the road bears left - WATCH OUT for the massive hole that will bottom out your suspension unless you stop dead.
Nice site if it bit large
Very nice and clean site with the facilities always spotless.
Only grumble I have is size of some of pitches - I booked an awning on as they are normally larger and I wasn’t sure if I might have an awning when I arrived.
Empty awning pitches seemed to be few and far between when I arrived and I tried a couple but with the new system of parking in the middle of your pitch between two markers they were too tight and I felt the front of my vehicle was too near the access road. I eventually settled in one at the far end of the site but noticed a couple of non awning pitches near me seemed to have more space particularly if both you and your neighbours have wind out awnings.
Had I been able to find one I would’ve preferred a pitch nearer to site entrance as it was a long walk from top of site to the exit and then to the bus stop.
Perfect site
This site is perfect for visiting Brighton and the surrounding area. Walk to the marina for a great choice of restaurants, stroll along the seafront to the pier. Just a short walk from there is the Royal Pavilion. So many things to do. We will be back for sure
Perfect location
Great location, easy walk to marina and bike ride into Brighton. Lovely walks from the campsite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a great breakfast at the East Brighton Cafe a short stroll from the site Will definitely return.
