The problem is that some members wont accept that they were in the wrong and try and deflect things by blaming other things such as the wardens who are simply doing their job for the benefit of all members, the gearing on my vehicle is wrong and vehicle wont go at 5mph or less. Even if the latter points are valid, what is wrong with depressing the clutch to slow down and maintain 5mph. As previous members have pointed out, 1st gear and no throttle is usually ideal for 5mph.

Vehicles vary so much, GG, that it’s near impossible to say which gear is generally best. First gear and no throttle would see me stalling whereas second gear allows a gentle controlled crawl.
It's incumbent on us all to control our speed by whatever means and it’s pretty clear the warden had cause to complain at Brid.

We were approached by a warden recently and made aware that we had been travelling in excess of 5mph and we accepted that he was correct andI later spoke to him and thanked him for doing his job and making sure the site was safe. Since then we have made sure that we keep our speed as low as possible but travelling at 5mph is not easy in most vehicles but worth a try if it prevents an accident!
