Very efficient & friendly welcome upon arrival.
Well stocked shop.
Great dog walking areas, close to canal links for Brecon & Pencelli.
Absolutely spotless shower / toilet facilities.
Would definitely return.
Ideal for Brecon and the Beacons
First time here. Welcoming staff, although agree with other reviewers that it is a little confusing trying to find ‘your pitch’ other sites use a pitch reservation system which would be good?)
Decided on Pitch 65-67. In hindsight we would have tried to go for one further from the main roads (noisy!)
Also, one electrical hook up point on shared post not working (reported but not fixed), also the water for our ‘serviced pitch’ stopped working after a few hours. By this time we were settled and didn’t want to go through relocation (lazy I know). But we had faith that site staff would resolve (unfortunately not)
On the positive side, it’s a clean, tidy and well maintained site
Ablutions block was spotless and warm
Small but well stocked site shop
Short walk to local pub (Three Horse Shoes)
Nice walk along tow path to Brecon
Ideal for Beacons
Good for access to Brecon but...................
There is a lack of choice if you want to stay close to Brecon so to moan about the proximity of the road is a bit pointless, but it is a noisy site almost all over the site.
As usual facilities are spotless, there is a large children's play area (with equipment) and a "better than most" dog walking area. Walking to Brecon town and to a local pub are all within easy reach.
However, there is more white paint on the roads than on a town centre carpark with a one way system which leaves you dizzy. Following a not very friendly "welcome" we were told to look for a red marker pitch, but not where there were any free spaces - 2 loops around the one way system including an exit barrier and re-admittance required to find anything. Can the booking system not reveal the remaining vacant pitches? We didn't need a full service pitch, but this was the only option available on booking despite there being a number of empty standard and grass pitches on site.
All pitches are highly regimented with no inter-pitch planting to offer some privacy or soften the image.
Notices everywhere telling (not asking) you what you can and can't do.
PS: We've just paid £12 less for a 3 day stay than for the 2 days at Brecon; OK the facilities are not the same standard, but the site location (lakeside), the welcome and the ambiance are far superior.

Superb closeby dog walk - a bit noisey
Very very organised site manned by exceptionally helpful staff. The covid regulations feel a bit excessive nowadays. There is a fair amount of noise from the nearby road, but you soon get used to it and it is not onerous. Superb and lovely walk along a river nearby on the quiet side of the site. Fantastic views to the Brecons from the local pub which is maybe 15-20 mins walk. Brecon town is charming and better resourced than we expected, and worth a saunter around. An efficient site with views to the hills from areas on the site.

Great site
Brilliant site we always have a good stay here shame it's not open all year. Only one issue was the amount of dog mess in the dog walking areas it was only a couple of days into the new season not good just pick it up and bin it.
Wonderful Site
I read all the reviews on this site before arriving and thought oh my, this site is going to be awful. Well it most assuredly isn't. It's by 2 main roads, you can see that on the map, so don't complain about road noise - what do you expect!!! The site is spotlessly clean, the grass mown to within an inch of its life, the toilet blocks pristine and warm and welcoming. We didn't use the shop, so cannot comment on that, but there is a shop. Saturday night a pizza van turned up which was very nice. There are so many walks and bike rides from this site. Just over the road you can access the canal and you can walk into Brecon or into the countryside. Its a wonderfully leisurely walk, level (it being a canal) and you can ride your bike along it for miles. Don't be suprised if you get wet and muddy, it does have puddles along the way. Brecon itself is not that exciting, but there are a few nice shops and coffee shops, so its worth a visit for an afternoon. We drove up to Pen-y-fan where there is lots of parking in the form of laybys all along the road complete with burger vans and magnificent views. The walk up Pen-y-fan is very do-able with a wide well looked after path, but it does get very busy in high season, even in March it was busy. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Brecon and would recommend it.

Noisy site.
Stayed at Brecon Beacons site for October half term, booked fully serviced pitches, arrived just after site opening time for access and were advised of 3 supposedly vacant pitches together as we were travelling with 2 units. Arrived at pitches to find all 3 taken. Followed map to other pitches to find all were by the 2 very noisy roads. No option but to pick 2 together, thought the trees all around site may subdue noise, big mistake. Noise was virtually continuous, with now the addition of all sorts of leaves, seeds and cones dropping off trees on to caravan roof. Unlike all other sites we have been to all the rubbish/recycling bins were by the 1 toilet block that was open, site shop was opening reduced hours/days due to staff shortages and stock had been let run down as closing at end of the week.
Site facilities were clean and COVID measures in place though not everyone observing them.
Lessons learnt don’t pick pitches near trees, don’t believe arrival times.
Have been disappointed with the quality of club sites this year, premium prices for poor to average pitches. Even split this year with half sites visited disappointing.
One of the best… Except!
We have just spent 4 nights on this site. It’s one of the best CAMC sites we’ve been to. The site and it’s facilities were spotlessly clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
There were ample hand sanitising dispensers and signs everywhere asking for face masks to be worn in toilet blocks etc. Just a shame that a lot of people didn’t think that applied to them!
The site has a large play area for children and one of the best, (in fact two), dog walks we’ve found anywhere.
It’s an easy walk, (about 40 minutes), or cycle, into Brecon along the canal and the Three Horseshoes pub is only a 10 minute stroll from the site. The pub doesn’t look much from the outside but it’s lovely inside and the food is excellent. Crickhowell, Talybont on Usk and Abergavenny are in easy reach by car.
The only downside to the site is that it is bounded on two sides by busy roads and so there is road noise which, if like me, you’re not a good sleeper, you might find a problem however don’t be put off; perhaps try some ear plugs because the site is excellent.
Great Stay of Four Nights
Booked for four nights in October, arrived and had a friendly welcome from the site team, this is the secnd time this year that we felt that we needed a break at Brecon Beacons Site and we had a great few days, the weather was kind the site looke immaculate as aleays a credit to the team who worked hard to keep the site looking great and the facilities spotless. Brecon Club site is only 45 mies from home and we know the area pretty well so knew the best places to eat and drink.
There was only one drawback but I'm not going to take the shine off this brilliant site by mentioning it as it only lasted one night
Very spacious site in lovely location
This is an excellent site with only one drawback, which is the proximity of the main roads. However, if as I did, you can get a pitch as far away from the road as possible, it is certainly tolerable. Everything else is spot on. The pitches are spacious and well separated, and manoeuvring around the site is easy, with clear signs. The facilities are excellent with plentiful waste/water stations and two toilet blocks with ample room, although one was closed when I was there, as it was nearly the end of the season. There is a good shop too, with a decent range of foodstuffs and accessories. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. The area is great for all manner of outdoor activities, including hiking and cycling. The highest point in the Brecon Beacons - Pen-y-Fan - is only a few miles away and in fine weather the ascent is spectacular. Cycling is well catered for as one can cycle along the nearby canal in either direction and there are plentiful quiet lanes nearby, although these can be quite hilly. I'd definitely go back. Unfortunately the site is not open all the year round, which is rather surprising, as it would be ideal in the winter months, given the quality of the hard standing pitches.
