Good for families

Quality as expected at a club site.

The wardens are very helpful and check in is easy, although there are quite a few rules and regulations to go through first. E.g. dogs are not allowed on any of the grass or tree areas at any time; fortunately there is a short dog walk. The site is at the entrance to Strid Wood. There are walks in all directions. It’s worth noting that currently the Strid Cafe and carpark is up for sale and closed. Facilities are as good as expected on a club site. Check out time is 11am and the toilets close for cleaning at 10.30am. The small shop is open 9-10 then 1-5. Some pitches are next to the small private school in the woods; there is a small amount on noise during 10 min playtime but it closes at 3pm. It’s not a problem. TV - no signal, you’ll need a coaxial cable which they sell. Mobile - no signal on 3 different networks we tried, probably not any. WiFi - despite the site advertising it as having WiFi, it is unusable. It’s rarely available and when it was it’s incredibly slow and drops. It would be better to advertise this as not having WiFi then there’s no disapointment. If you like country walks, riverside paths, nature, clear night skies, small sites and club facilities, you’ll like it here.
