Third visit spoiled

Our third visit to this site and, as always, the location cannot be faulted. Wonderful 7 mile loop from the site to Barden Bridge then over the other side of the river to the Priory then back along the bank to the site. Being a Caravan Club site it pretty much does what it says on the tin; the facilities are generic and no more or less than what we have come to expect of CC sites in terms of cleanliness and tidiness etc. However, our visit this time was marred by the attitude of the warden, Gary Allister. Having stayed before we are aware of the lack of mobile phone signal and TV signal and this is fine for us. As it was the closing weekend of the Olympics we decided to purchase a coax cable from the site shop for £15 so we could at least receive an analogue signal on our TV and tune in to the BBC coverage. However, after trying it in several bollards we could get nothing more than a grainy picture. It was frustrating as we could see TVs in other caravans showing perfect pictures. My husband tried replacing the ends of the cable but still nothing. The following day he purchased a length of coax from Skipton and tried again and this time the picture was perfect. He took the cable back to the office and told Gary Allister that it was faulty and that he would like a refund. His reply was a very abrupt "Nope, it must be your telly". My husband explained that the TV was fine with a different cable to which the warden replied "Well that's funny, it's the first faulty one I've had in 13 years". My husband asked him to come down to our pitch so he could demonstrate that it was faulty but he wouldn't. My husband then had to insist firmly that he is not a liar or a fool and that he expected a refund and an apology. Only then was £15 slammed on the counter with a half hearted "Sorry". My husband was fizzing when he returned as there was just no need for the attitude.
