First visit to Bolton Abbey

This is the first time we have stayed at this site.....what a gem. Brian and Janet were extremely welcoming and friendly and more than happy to give you all the information needed. The site is in a fantastic position surrounded by woodlands and really well laid out pathways. These provide hours and hours of walking and wonderful views. Plenty of cafes around although we found that most will not allow dogs inside which makes for a very cold and quick lunch sitting outside even with blankets provided. Would highly recommend this site and will be back again early next year, if not for Christmas. A message to Brian and Janet....we hope your dog continues to recover. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Our favourite Club site

We love this site, having been there many times in recent years. It is small and friendly and its location is perfect. For anyone who loves the countryside and wildlife, the walks through the woods and on both sides of the River Wharfe are a joy. The site is close to Skipton which is a splendid Yorkshire town with frequent market days, lots of local shops, and even a castle. The only drawbacks to the site are: it doesn't sell newspapers (and it's a long walk to the paper shop in Bolton Abbey!) and tv reception relies on a cable system that offers very limited programmes and no subtitles for the deaf. But these points don't put us off at all.

One of our favourite sites

This was our first stay at Bolton Abbey, it was recommended by my sister in law and she was right - we loved it! The weekend coincided with Bonfire night which was ideal as our dogs weren't affected by the fireworks, we could hardly hear them. The weather was cold and crisp and it's a perfect location for walking. We walked along the river to Appletreewick where we stooped at a lovely pub called the Craven Arms. We had Sunday Lunch at the Woolly Sheep in Skipton which I would definitely recommend The site itself is clean and well maintained and the owners were very helpful. The road was closed when we got there meaning along diversion on narrow country roads making our journey more eventful than anticipated but at least leaving the site through the arch was easy by comparison! We will definitely be coming back here, we loved it.

Peaceful week away

We returned to this very pleasant site for a second visit, we were once again delighted with the site and surrounding area. Despite it being half term the site was still very quiet, our main aim was to take our two dogs here for bonfire night as they are quite upset by the loud fireworks and it was a great success, Bolton Abbey do run an organised event which we could hear slightly but the dogs were so relaxed after a good days walk by the river the were not disturbed by this at all. We will be returning to this site again and would like to thank the wardens for doing such a splendid job in keeping everything clean and tidy it is much appreciated

Bolton Abbey Family Friendly

Over the October half term we decided to venture over to Bolton Abbey, a site we have tried to get on for a while yes it was worth the persistence, this site is extremely family friendly and in one of the most idyllic location that the club has to offer to families. There was a number of activities over this period that were put on from a pumpkin walk which along the way were small coffee sites including the two obligatory cafe's serving excellent food and drink. The full walk took us at leisurely pace 3 hours, the children loved the stepping stones (willies recommended). The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable about the site and local area. ADVISE UPON APPROACH is pay particular attention to the road in and the archway near to the abbey on the approach road, the site is through the archway and past a farm on your right not well sign posted until this point

Fabulous site

This was our second time on site and we were not disappointed. Wardens were extemely helpful and friendly and the site itself is just fanatastic! The setting is glorious as a few minutes walk takes you into Strid wood where you can walk for miles along the riverside to Bolton Abbey itself. The facilities were extremely clean and showers always hot. The nearby towns of Skipton and Ilkley are well worth visiting too. We will be back!

Lovely couple of nights away from it all

Fantastic site with beautiful walks right on your motorhome/caravan step. The wardens could not be friendlier or more helpful. Will be back but would like to keep the site a close kept secret!!

Great autumn escape

We had a long weekend at this beautiful site. The wardens (Mr and Mrs Jones) are really pleasant and helpful, in fact, we needed help straight away as we couldn't get a tv signal. Mr Jones sorted it out for us, in his own time I might add. Thank you! We had a lovely 3 nights break, surrounding scenery is beautiful, the site facilities are clean and warm with plenty of hot water. It was our first visit but hopefully not our last. On arriving home I realised I had mislaid a pair of glasses, I contacted the site warden on the off chance they had been left there, luckily, a kind person had handed them in to the site office. Thank you, to you too! The warden posted them to me, how's that for good service?

Lovely area

Stayed for 7 nights wish we could have stopped longer friendly and very helpful wardens we found the pitches to be far enough apart and so what no phone signal why not go for a walk and you can soon pick one up! The site is situated in a lovely area with walks straight from site. Didn't find the archway any problem a good 8 to 10 inches to spare either side of the caravan would definitely return here.
