Flowertastic!

Upon pulling into the site, the reception and facilities building was awash with beautiful plants and flowers! Such a colourful display certainly helped brighten our stay on such a very wet weekend break. Thank you wardens for all your hard work. And even better when I popped back to reception to let them know what pitch we were on they let my dog in and offered him a treat. Great service and very friendly wardens

Excellent week’s relaxation

This site was an excellent site from which to enjoy some good walks, some interesting villages-National Trust places-all able to finish at very friendly pubs (food and drink !). The wardens were all very helpful, accommodating and cheery. The site is kept immaculate and the facilities too are spotless. Super!!

Immaculately kept site

Stayed just for a couple of nights, but was able to appreciate it. Facilities are not massive, but are immaculately kept, as is the grass. There can be a little noise from the road, but it's occasional, not constant. There are signs around the site, showing its history, which is interesting, and not something you see on most sites. On the serviced pitches you might find that the posts are further away than some other sites, as they are shared between two pitches. As a result our 7.5m water pipe did not reach the tap. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Not far to the Roaches for a nice walk, but go early to make sure that you get a parking space.

Fabulous stay.

Spent two nights at this beautiful site. The layout is lovely as you have a number of pockets with 4 or so pitches as well as usual longer runs divided by hedges. Lovely views of the Roaches in the peaks and Tittesworth reservoir nearby. As we had our 2 Labs with us, the dog walk on site was long, relative to others, and either gravelled or wood chip so surface clean even when wet. It runs around the left hand side of the site and is easily accessible from various pitches and points. We stayed on 28 so directly into it. No banging gates to disturb other people either. The facilities were spotless and the 2 wardens could not be more welcoming or helpful. Add to this the Three Horseshoes pub 10 mins walk away with full path all the way. Other pubs are also nearby but not all have paths to them. However used here twice and food, service and beer were excellent. A fabulous stay and will be going back soon.

Excellent facilities and friendly staff

Only visited Blackshaw Moor for a long weekend but long enough to appreciate a top class club site. Welcomed by friendly staff on arrival. Facilities up to, if not beyond, the usual expected on club sites - well maintained and immaculately clean. Only thing that visitors need to be aware of is that the site is directly beside the main Leek to Buxton road and the pitches on the lowest level will suffer from traffic noise. We were on one of the upper levels, furthest from the road and it was absolutely fine for us. Enjoyed a walk around the nearby reservoir and can highly recommend the restaurant there. I'm a Coeliac so need gluten free options and they had plenty for me and excellent value for money. Can also recommend the Three Horseshoes Inn which is less than 10 minutes walk from the site. Will happily stay here again if we're in the area.

Great Ambiance

Upon pulling into the site we immediately got a feeling of welcome. The site is spacious and extremely well kept. One of the wardens was busy tending the flower beds keeping them neat and tidy even tho the site was shutting for the winter in a short while. The wardens very very friendly and very helpful, they treated everyone as if we were friends. The shower/toilet blocks were immaculate looked like they were brand new which of course they weren’t. The grounds were well kept, and everything was spotlessly clean. There are some excellent pubs in the area serving good food and beer at reasonable prices( we came from down south and haven’t paid less than £4 a pint for years). Easy access to the peaks and good walking for on the site or a short drive. If we go back to the Peak District this site is where we will go. The wardens should be ambassadors for the club, they would be great at training new wardens or even giving established wardens a refresher. Greet site made better by great wardens what more is there to say?!

First ever caravan holiday

On arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly, helpful staff. They new we were newbies to caravanning. Came and checked on us while we set up. We couldn’t have picked a better site for our first outing. Clean, organised. Couldn’t fault any aspect. Obviously first visit to a club site or any site. Have to say if there is one better I would like to know. Ideally located with plenty of places to go by car or walking. Pub up the road, three horse shoes, serves good food and is dog friendly as the site is. In conclusion, if you are looking for somewhere in the Peak District look no further. You are guaranteed a warm welcome here.

Another lovely stay

We have stayed at this site several times before as we live close by. Lovely welcome by lovely friendly wardens and immaculate site dressed with baskets and pots of flowering plants. Can’t really comment on whether it is a good site for children except to say that they all seemed to be having a lovely time in the playground. Great walking from site around tittesworth reservoir and over the roaches. Towns pubs and shops close by. Several pubs within walking distance. We will be back.

Another lovely stay.

Lovely warm welcome from Phil and Steve on entering, Bev and Pauline added to the start of our short break with their welcoming greeting in the reception. We parked near the top of the site next to the farm with the cows in field. The site had ample choice for pitching up. The sites flowers at the entrance were beautiful and the site was well maintained. You could regularly see the team working on site. We walked down to the lake a couple of times which is easy to find and lovely trails for walking. Buxton is about 15 minutes drive from site and we’ll worth a visit. Knights Castle and the Winking Man are better value for money than the Three Horseshoes but yes you would need to go in the car. We were surprised at the quietness around the lake, on site and in Buxton, especially as in the middle of August everywhere should be busy, busy, busy. Thank you for making us welcome and we hope to see you again soon.
