Long weekend.

We arrived in the thick of a storm so sat at reception till the rain abated . Great site in the heart of the New Forest perfect for walking cycling and horse riding . There is a great walk through from site to the Royal Oak pub at Bank close to Lyndhurst if you can discover the route through the enclosures . We visited the Sea food festival in Lymington close to the marinas and IOW ferry very good choice of sea foods to try and local beer from Ringwood brewery also a live band for entertainment during out time there. On the question of dogs we had 2 spaniels with us so we are firm dog lovers and this site must present the best out the gate walking anywhere for dog owners . As far as dog noise is concerned I can remember pre hunting ban when the Buck hounds were located at New Park (home of the New Forest show) and you could often be woken by the baying and barking of the pack as they were fed breakfast. As far as the site goes the wardens are fantastic friendly and helpful . The new toilet and shower block was spotless and the wood cladding seemed appropriate for the location. I am sure we will be back again for the beauty and wildnesss of this area.
