Good for families

Not as Dog friendly as other local CC sites.

We last went to this site in the 80's Still very nice, clean & tidy and peaceful. Some of the pitch's are on sloping ground so corner steady blocks / leveling ramps can come in very handy. Wardens seemed OK the little contact we had with them but we were very disappointed with the dog walk which was a key factor in our booking choice. It's a public footpath (as far as I'm aware) which is part of the 1066 walk, is just over a mile long and leads to the local pub. The problem is there are signs saying to keep dogs on leads at all times. I have no problem with that but have we had known this we would not have booked. I think the club should make dog owners aware of this restriction. The local pub is great, good food and is very dog friendly. Normanhurst Court is a great place to base yourself for exploring the Sussex coast line with some lovely beaches to explore. There is a real gem close by at Pett Level with plenty of free parking for cars and MH's (parts of the beach do not allow dogs May -September) but there is still plenty of other space you can use. Do heed the advice in the hand book about NOT using a Sat Nav. The post code is generic for the area and we ended up going down a lane that became very narrow and had to do a 3 point turn with car and 22ft caravan. Luckily we found a gate to a field set back from the road to reverse in to. As a foot note, Fairlight Wood CC site, not that far away from Normanhurst Court is a much better option for dog owners.
