We have just returned from a six night stay at Baltic. This is a site we love and have visited several times every year for ages. There is so much in the area to see and experience. Ideally located for the city with wonderful walks and views. lots of places to eat and a trip up Brandon hill with a picnic at the top overlooking the city is a must on our visits...weather permitting. The site sadly has been under threat of closure for so long now (so short sighted by the council) and consequently has felt neglected, unloved at times and in dire need of an upgrade. However, on our visit last week we were so uplifted by the current wardens efforts, with we feel is probably done on a limited amount of resources, how the site was when we drove on. 'Chelle and Lyndsay have and are each day putting in so much effort....the site actually feels loved. Little flower pots around, bushes tidied, spotless facilities and a great amount of information in the hut, that we in all our visits have never seen before. There were some brilliant bus maps which showed every route and bus for the city that you could possibly need. Lots of little touches that make the visit so much nicer. Thank you 'Chelle and Lyndsay, so good to have you there taking care of us and hoping you are still there when we next return.
