Disappointed

We had heard so many good things about this site that we were really looking forward to our visit. Upon arrival we just looked at each other in total disbelief of what was in front of us, the site looked run down, scruffy and little better than a car park. The pitches could barely be seen owing to the amount of leaves that were covering them, there were huge puddles everywhere and it was difficult to get to the rear gate without getting our feet wet. Access to the water point opposite pitch 9 was protected by a 2 foot wide moat and this was kept nicely topped up by the leaking hose on the tap of the waste water. On every site that I have visited there have been waste/recycling bins placed conveniently around the site, not so at Baltic Wharf, we had to take our waste to the reception area. Not my favourite pastime in the late November rain. On the plus side this site is in a lovely location and there is lots to do. Unfortunately it seems to be a CMCC policy that where sites are in a prime, popular location it is not necessary to make any effort to maintain them or carry out anything but the basics. Amongst my gripes are leaking hoses, toilets that didn’t flush, cubicles with coat hooks missing and not enough staff to run the place effectively.
