A magical unique site in the heart of an historic and vibrant metropolitan city on a par with anywhere in the world
We thought our three nights at Baltic Wharf last week would be the last ever, but on the very morning of our leaving we got the great news that the lease had been extended for a further three months. So we have booked further stays in October! Stepping or cycling out of the back gate onto the harbourside is quite magical and compares very well with the likes of Barcelona or Lisbon. The site is compact and pitches are limited but I disagree with any comments that upkeep has been neglected! The wardens have done a fantastic job in maintaining the toilet/shower/facilities block and the number of cubicles/showers etc out of action is less than has been the case during lockdown in general. The CAMC and the onsite wardens are to be commended on their efforts. The harbourside is home to SS great Britain and the M shed and numerous pubs and restaurants, and Bristol is a fine historic city. Unfortunately my wife came off her bike on the harbourside and was immediately tended to by at least two off duty nurses and an A & E doctor - it was like being on the set of Casualty. I doubt that we would have received such ready assistance in many other large cities. If you have not been there, then go now while you can and support the CAMC and the wardens- they deserve it.
