This was our first time at this site, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome. The current wardens haven't been there long and it is evident they are working hard to get the site looking good, we found them to be most helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The rear gate issues mentioned by a previous reviewer is now fixed and provides good access to the waterfront. Being able to walk from site to pubs, restaurants and theatres was great the historical attractions of the area are also a real bonus. Buses run from close to the site entrance if you don't wish to walk. We didn't encounter any undue noise from the surrounding area which was surprising given it's near city location. This is a smallish size site meaning pitches are a little more cramped than you would find at larger sites. However, we had no problems setting up and leaving our pitch and the excellent location makes up for a slightly smaller pitch. We would have no hesitation in returning in the future.
