We have just returned from our first visit to Balbirnie Park Caravan Club Site which consisted of four nights.
The park is set in a small country park just outside the village of Markinch in Fife. The location is superb as it gives you easy access for most places in the Fife area and not too far from Edinburgh too.
The village of Markinch itself has some shops which includes a Co-op, a Chinese takeaway and some pub's. There is also a train station in Markinch with services as far north as Aberdeen and as south as Edinburgh. We used the train for a day out and some lunch in Kirkcaldy. St Andrews is about a half hour drive from the park. Be sure to call into Anstruther on the way for some of the famous fish and chip's. Glenrothes is about two miles from the park where you will find an Asda, Aldis, B&M, Morrisons, McDonalds with other food takeaways and shop's also.
The park itself is very well kept and whilst we where there was very quiet and relaxing. The toilets of course like all Caravan Club Sites where spotless and warm. In fact all the facilities where spotless and the wardens are always busy.
The small country park adjacent to the site is good for walking and cycling. We had a really nice time here and will return again for sure.
Just dropped in
We were on our way home from a tour of the Orkneys and Highlands and needed a quite spot to rest ourselves and our motorhome. We found this site in the club book and set the sat Nav with the post code. Coming from the north this doesn't work with Tom Tom, it seems the iriginal lane has now been built over by a new housing estate. Not daunted we followed the instructions and found the site quite easily. This is a very quite and secluded site set amoung trees. The staff were most helpful, explaining that there are shops only a 5 minute walk away. The facilities were absolutely top class, very clean and comprehensive, the whole site was a pleasure to stop in, in other circumstances we would have stayed longer. Well done the staff!!

Top Class Site
We enjoyed a break here earlier this month. The wardens work very hard to keep their site immaculate. The large number of trees can keep the sun away but at least we saw some sun. Contrary to the site details, we got excellent TV reception but only intermittent mobile phone reception.
Can not wait to go back
A beautiful well maintained caravan club site, a fantastic base to start your travels, peaceful nights to enjoy your sleep, and shower and toilet blocks that are so clean you could eat off the floor. its run by people who know exactly what we like as caravaners.
We tend to travel no more that 40 miles aday when visiting places around where we stay, making Balbernie Park perfect for Edinburgh, Dundee, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Queensferry and a must for everyone the awarding winning Fish & Chip shop at Anstruther, watch out, they can que along time for their tea, but well worth the wait. The site is fantastic if you have a dog, we took molly and there are some great walks all around Balbernie House, lots of greens and woodland, plenty of bins provided to clear up any mess made, as we all should. So to end, Balbernie Park Caravan Club Site is the perfect place to stay and enjoy your travels around Scotland. last tip, Free parking at the train station, trains to Edinburgh approx every 30 mins, £11.30 return, off peak..

Great wee break
Just back from a wee break at this great site, facilities were super, toilets were immacculate, the wardens were brill, very friendly and helpful, great base to visit St Andrews and the East Neck, beutiful park next door to walk dogs, overall a great break, would definitely return
Excellent site
This is one of the best kept sites we have been on. Nothing is too much bother for the wardens. They both work very hard and the site is much improved since they took over

On your marks
A pleasant site within easy reach of Fife's picturesque fishing villages and bustling Kirkcaldy.
I was surprised by the relatively small number of white-marker (awning) plots, while any number of blue-marker bays (non-awning) were free for use: this restriction, I was told, a carryover from earlier pre-Club management.
First visit to a CC site since joining
Stayed 28/8 for three nights - First outing to a Club site since joining so didn't really know what to expect. From entry to exit it was a joy - excellent friendly wardens, nice wooded site with no pitch too far from amenities. Toilets etc spotless. Great surroundings in terms of plants, bird boxes, squirrels coming right up to the caravan - fabulous grounds next door at Balbirnie House itself (excellent food btw) attractive sleepy village with very well stocked Coop. Good historical walks around village using guide in wardens box - old sanctuary stone at Stobcross. Great local towns and villages to visit - even watched cricket at Freuchie.
Must admit slight bias as granddad used to work at the big house and dad was born near there but a site I will return to. If this is an example of the Club sites I will be a happy member.
Good Site
This is the second time we have used this site. It is a perfect location for touring Fife or a visit to Edinburgh. The facilities were very clean. The site is large with many trees and the wardens very helpful. Highly recommended.
